You did not say anything about new adhesive, whether it’s needed, how much, what type. It would also be useful to know where you bought the screen from (Apple?) and how much it cost and alternate sources for it.

1. Looks like you removed the home button and its rubber ring dust seal all in one piece? That way you don't have to disassemble it completely? 2. You don't have to also test the keyboard functionality to ensure no damage was done to the three "pop" press in connectors? 3. Why didn't you clean up the adhesive tape on the battery connection protection cover and add new tape just to that area you disturbed?
@Tappit3332 жыл бұрын
The home button connector has a small lever that you gently lift up, this will allow the ribbon connector to slide into the connector, super video/Tutorial :-)

Everything on the pro seems to be a replacement of the digitizer with the glass. can just the glass be replaced and keep the old digitizer?
@FixItPlanet16 жыл бұрын
The "glass" is the digitizer (which responds to your touch) is fused to the display (sometimes referred to as "LCD") and is the part that shows the image. It is possible to separate the two but is difficult and not very practical.
@tejasrinivas35205 жыл бұрын

Teja Srinivas there are videos of this, and it looks like a nightmare. It sucks, but if you want to fix a cracked glass the really only practical solution for at home DIY is to replace the entire LCD assembly.

Ross in Ontario I ended up replacing mine but I bought the base model 2019 iPad with 128GB storage and LTE. I still have the iPad Pro as a backup and my kids use it with the broken screen. I can tell the difference between the laminated and non laminated screens but otherwise, they are very similar except I have a lot more storage now. I’m not sure I really need an iPad Pro. I mostly just surf the net and watch videos on it. I have a MacBook Pro and a decent windows laptop for when I need to do heavy lifting.

I guess it overheated and now the screen has popped open along the entire camera side end. The screen must’ve expanded as it’s warped up and even though I can press it down it won’t stay. I’m assuming I damaged a connector? Disconnecting the bat connector was difficult to do with the pick? I had to use a lot of force even after heating.
