I’ve noticed how a lot of the comments here are saying the info and tips for how to remove the screws and nails from the drywall during the first half of the video is “not needed” or a “waste of time”. So, as someone who actually did need that information as well as the information on how to fill the holes, I do not agree with those who think the first half of the video is unnecessary/a waste of time. However, I can see where some of them are coming from. I recommend that you edit the title of the video to mention that this video includes both the removal of screws and nails in drywall as well as the repairing of the holes. It will help alleviate the backlash and prevent confusion of those who are just looking for the information in the second half of the video. I hope you take my advice and continue to grow this channel of yours. Good luck! 👍

3:35 and 3:45 Bro, i was looking for that specific type of anchor that is flush and flat ring , because its hard to figure out how to remove. And NOBODY on youtube showed how to remove that type of anchor. But your the ONLY one who showed how to do it. Thanks bro. Your the man. 👍
@MarkJaquith

For those plastic anchors that are stuck, I just use flush cut wire cutters to cut the collar off, and then push them into the wall and let them fall into the void. It does way less damage to the wall because you're not dragging those flared parts back through the hole.

This thing is fantastic. kzbin.infoUgkx1McjgiqTNcTjrhvRvJWcrk5bzTeQW-Wn Easy to store in a bag in "screwdriver" position, not heavy but well built, and the location of the button makes it easy to screw or unscrew with one hand in either "gun" or "screwdriver" position. My only real complaint is there isn't a clip anywhere to store another bit, and the bit isn't a combo dual-ended bit either, so the flathead and P1/P0 philips bits we have to carry around invariably get misplaced.Note: Apparently Black + Decker changed this same Li2000 model from "Type 2" to "Type 3". This new "Type 3" appears to be slightly lighter, and the charging plug is now larger, with a little metal piece to keep it snug. I never noticed the "Type 2" version charger plug to not be perfectly snug, so not sure why this change was made - it does make it annoying that our shop now has 8 of these, and the new 3 have different charging plugs :/

Spreading that spackle or compound so far out from the repair, is gonna add extra work to your repair. You can use a damp cloth to clean it up and save yourself extra work such as additional sanding and re-texturing... JS...Also pre-cutting your tape closer to the size of the hole repair, is a much easier option.

Thanks for talking about caulking. i was wondering also if that would be an option, and a (supposedly) handyman said i can even use caulk to fix no-longer adhesive taping work on my ceilings edges. I figured i will watch lots of youtube videos before doing the work, and here we go, i got my answer. NOT doing that caulking because would like a nice and smooth paint job after.

After removing the nail/ screw/ anchor....take rounded end of ball pein hammer and slightly dent the drywall surface over the hole...then apply the drywall compound..that way you wont tear the drywall paper surface by scraping and the hole will be invisible after painting...

Hello, this video really helped with covering screw holes in my wall. However, I have a bathroom towel holder where one end was knocked out of the hole, which is over an inch wide. Once I place the mesh tape and the joint compound over the hole, once it dries. I can then put the screw back in there? Or do I have to try and replace the whole towel rod? I sure hope it's No!! Thank you.

Hi there. What if i have a half inch to one inch hole that needs to be repaired but also needs to be reused. would a layer or two of of joint compound with mesh be good enough to hold the screw/anchor? ( im trying to reuse the hole from the bathtowel rack )
@FixThisHouse
@FixThisHouse 3 жыл бұрын
Joint compound usually bonds fairly well to the gypsum inside drywall panels. However, you must get it thoroughly filled to make good contact. Also, standard joint compound shrinks substantially, so you'd be better off with a setting-type product (Easy Sand 45, for example If you're hanging something very heavy and you want to make sure it's a strong patch, and if you don't mind a hole at least an inch or two and a little patching & filler & paint you could put a piece of wood behind it and screw it into the "good" drywall on either side: Please check out my ceiling drywall repair video, it’s a similar process 👍🏽😊🙏🏽 best of luck!

Toothepaste, not the gel stuff also works great to fill small holes in place of drywall putty. I have seen spray expandable foam used to fill say a 1" diameter hole. Once it hardends trim it down flat with a knife. Then putty over it.
