On this episode I'm going to show you How To Wire 2 Single Pole Switch Inside 2 Gang J-Box To Light Fixture (2022) | DIY Beginner Tutorial! These 2 single-pole light switches will be together inside one junction box (J-Box) each controlling a light fixture individually. This is also great wiring for bathrooms were you want to control a light and a fan Independently. There will be only one power source going inside the 2 gang J-Box, feeding to the 2 single pole switches going to the 2 light fixtures! If you have any questions regarding this project, please comment and leave me a message!

Very clear explanation. Out of habit, I always place the line wire on the bottom screw terminal of the switch and the load wire (going to the light) on the top terminal. Easy to remember, because I rationalize that flipping the switch up sends power to the upper terminal and out to the light. In the end, does not matter if these are reversed as you did.

I use Wago connectors too but I wrap electrical tape around them as the levers have a little bit of play in them and can come up a little bit when you push them into the jbox. I also wrap a light duty zip tie around the wires connected in each Wago about an 1 1/2" down from the Wago. This takes any stress off the wires where they enter the Wago when they are being pushed into the jbox. Thanks for your videos. You have a great way of explaining things and breaking everything down.

Wow wow wow! OMG thank you! Truly, for me, this is the most excellent, helpful KZbin video I have ever watched. I've been doing a couple easy projects around my house, and now I want to buy and install those ultraslim ceiling LED's, kitchen and front room. I already watched, like, 6 other videos, and only one of those was very helpful, but you take the blue ribbon, it's yours! I bet I learned ten useful informations. I used to be hopelessly confounded by wires and outlets; I considered myself out of my depth. It's like you reached down from a high cliff at the ocean and extended your hand and pulled me up. I'm so happy I can learn this stuff, and I need never be intimidated beneath trying a slightly better challenge. I can do these upgrades, I will do them well, and I will enjoy having accomplished my now realizable dream.

I love how clear your instructions are. It was encouraging for someone who hasn't wired in a while. When I have the circuit breaker on, no matter whether the switch is off or on, the voltage detector still flashes at the hot line at the light fixture. Is that normal? These were new switches rated 15/20. Edit: The power supply feeding this outlet is some type of cheap 2 wire with no ground so I think that's the problem.

Love the explanation, could you do a video of the same thing but instead tapping a 3 way switch to a single pole? I imagine it's not too different other than locating which is the hot and or traveler wire? Thank you in advance!

I appreciate how clear and repetitive you are and made the tutorial super easy to follow. But how about if the 2nd switch has a 14-3 wire that connects to the 2nd light and thus running to a 3-gang box? I’m trying to figure out how to make that work correctly w/o affecting the wiring out of the 2-gang box. Thanks!

Great video! What do you recommend if i have the same power source for two lights but have two separate light switches on single gang boxes that are across the room?
