So as many CPS videos that are on YT, yours had the best focus and clearly showed how the wiring harness released. My god that was the worst part, never seen a release mechanism like that on a harness before, was getting really frustrated for the lack of difficulty of the job otherwise. The only other problem I had was realizing there were 2 sensors (probably only on the V6 version). As far as the work goes, didn't remove a thing; just used a long 10mm socket and treaded carefully as to putting weight or force on adjacent components.

@johntran13435 жыл бұрын
I don’t know if anyone will reply in time. But I have an issue with my 05 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE. The car had issues starting up, then went into “Limp Mode” with no acceleration and noticed that when put into Drive from Park it seemed to be slightly difficult but also a jolt when it went into drive. I guess my question is- When I had the SES codes checked it had Code P0340 Bank 1 but also said I needed a Distributor. Would a faulty CPS cause the distributor to say it’s failing but is actually just the CPS sensor needing to be replaced. This video is amazing and detailed. Did not know there was two banks and guy at Autozone said Bank 2 was what I needed to replace. Spent hours trying to remove CPS 2 due to connector not coming off or seemed stuck.
@FixyourNissan5 жыл бұрын
You do not have a distributor. If you have a Cam Sensor code, the Cam Sensors would need to be replaced. But do not use Aftermarket ones. They never work right. Get the Sensors from the dealer

@FixyourNissan7 жыл бұрын
If you have this codes after replacing the Cam Sensors and those Cam Sensor are after market, those codes are cause by after market Cam Sensor. If the Sensors are from the dealer and you have these codes, it could be a Back timing cover gasket issue. But should be proper checked to verify.
@FredyVergara7 жыл бұрын
FixyourNissan okay thanks i was thinking both engine timing solenoids bank 1 and 2 but those are pricy so was checking to replace the cam sensors.but didnt know about the gasket
@FixyourNissan7 жыл бұрын
It's very unlikely for both solenoids to go and cause those codes. Where if the back timing cover gasket fails it lowers oil pressure to the sprockets and to the solenoids which can cause both codes.

@FixyourNissan6 жыл бұрын
If you continue to have this code and the oil level is correct, it could be due to a bad Cam Sensor ( do not get after market ) or it could be due to a blown out back timing cover gasket, or a stuck intake sprocket. It can really be a number of things. So it really should be checked to Isolate what is the exact cause of this.

I’ve got a Nissan Maxima 2006 with the v6 3.5 standard. It hasn’t been accelerated very well at all in first gear especially, the other gears seem to be decent but I took it to a guy and he says the parts in my transmission are bad and he’ll only put one If I buy one from someone. I think it’s the camshaft sensor, I would appreciate if you could give me the link to the cheapest part that is correct for my model and will actually work (not aftermarket) I just need to see which sensor it is. But the service engine soon light did come on a few weeks back and it’s been having trouble getting started and it jumps when I put it in drive, reverse, and neutral but the slapshift shows the correct gear unlike in another video I watched on here where the guys didn’t but I’m assuming it’s still the problem nonetheless. I’ve seen several cases where a code is thrown indicating a bad sensor, but the problem was a bad connector which was not making sufficient contact with the electrical terminals on the sensor. These connectors are known to fail as they get older and are exposed to heal, oil and dirt. Get a quality replacement connector. Some are good and some are junk. The junk Chinese connectors use household grade pigtail wire and often DOA out of the package. I get the Bank 2 connector from this vendor: www.ebay.com/itm/381951393669 and the green Bank 1 connector here: www.ebay.com/itm/401294091068 never a problem with the connectors from these vendors and they are shipped fast.
@natesilver81736 жыл бұрын
I agree, most people overlook the connector and assume the sensor is bad. Our shop did three of these jobs last month and two had bad connectors. We bought the all green connector from the guy you recommended - Wall5150 - on eBay - they work every time. If you buy a crap connector then you waste time splicing wire soldering the new connector in and then you've got to do it all over when you learn the new connector is bad..

Would bad cam sensors cause PO300 misfire?
@FixyourNissan5 жыл бұрын
No, a Bad Cam Sensor won't cause a P0300. Spark plugs normally will cause that. Depending on the year or Model Nissan or Infiniti, they only like the OEM spark plugs. If you use any other brands, they can cause Misfire codes.

Then you are one of few. Aftermarket electrical parts never work right on Nissan or Infiniti's

@@FixyourNissan idk I feel like it depends on the quality or how much you're willing to spend. Someone was explaining to me how the company usually make em and put a brand on them and they go with what's equivalent and what you're just willing to pay for. I think mine also is OEM equivalent

@@maddmaxx14 There is nothing Equivalent on a aftermarket electrical part. My thoughts are I want to do a job once and do it right. I don't want to hope a aftermarket electrical part will work. I want to use a part I know will work.

@@FixyourNissan true idk I went with it but no issues my first cam sensor failed replaced it no problems with an aftermarket. Idk if it breaks again I'll go to Nissan and buy em but so far so good
