Great tutorial brother. I’ve never thought about editing in JPEG. Your workflow seems pretty simple and efficient. One question do you at all sharpen the image using the high pass filter. You IG always seems so super sharp! Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks! Yes, I don't know how I forgot to include the sharpening part. I use the high pass filter at 0.3 and then change the blending mode to vivid light. I then adjust the opacity according to the image. Usually 40% but more if needed.

Just curious, have you ever included a color checker passport into your workflow for color accuracy? It also has a dual illuminant mode for mixed color temperatures which you have in this scene with the fading daylight and the flash. This is a tough image to edit correctly because you also have bounced light off the ground casting additional color.

Good question. No, I never intend for complete color accuracy in my photos. Very much into whatever looks good to the eye. That's why I shoot auto white balance and decide in editing what mood I want the color to be.

Quick question?? On the glow easy lock beauty dishes, do you use both defusers and plate?

Always learning from you. Why not use TIFF en edit from LR into PS and then go back to LR once finished? Anyways it's still a process preference. Great work!

Was going to ask this question also, the option of edit in Photoshop gives you a better quality output than the JPEG since it's a TIF and you'll be able to edit in 16bit rather than 8bit. Then Ctrl+W saves and throws that file back into lightroom "automagically". To each their own, still great outcome though.

@@fjhphoto sorry missed it..my apologies. A beefy computer is truly necessary for the TIFF files once those layers start building up.

@@toni845 Yeah, I would put more stress on my computer which is kinda slow already and right now I can't afford to get a new setup. I'm going to try editing the TIFF from now on though since you are correct in that it's better for quality.
