Exposure to all genres and styles informs our most creative young artists. She has done her homework and is making the most of it. It’s going to be exciting seeing how she continues to develop and grow. Music is a communication art form, and she is communicating powerfully. I suspect (predict?) that every brutal, raw, and finely-nuanced texture, silence, harmony, rhythm, and timbre will ultimately occupy her palette.

The vocals are superb, the band sounds heavenly, the staging is otherworldly, but her STAGE PRESENCE? The way she just *looks* into the camera from time to time, knowing she's looking into your very soul. Her posture, the subtle movements, the way she lets the song move her but is still in such *command* of the performance. All just SITTING there. This is a MASTERCLASS in performance.
@bootz9662 жыл бұрын
Truly! I feel like with this style of music it's so easy to lose the engagement of an audience during a live show, but she really tells a story with her movement. It makes you want to keep tuning in. The dancing at the end of Home With You, as well as the first chorus of Cellophane were so incredibly engaging, entertaining, and just absolutely heartfelt.

She means every word, especially in Cellophane. She has opened up her heart to us, she's letting us in, but she's also speaking directly to who this song is about. She is so powerful, because she's strong enough to be open and honest and vulnerable with the world, using music to accentuate her experience and augment it to one that we can all relate to. Maybe it's hitting me now because I finally feel like I've accessed my own unshakable sense of truth and take power from vulnerability, but FKA Twigs is the artist of our generation. Sending nothing but infinite love to you, Twigs

Huge FKA Twigs fan and this is sublime. I love the orchestral arrangement. It suits her stunning vocals perfectly. Reminiscent of Kate Bush.

So this is my first time hearing her music. Wow, it’s beauty and pain at the same time. It seems to be more than just music or a song to her. She is definitely in a league of her own.

Dynamic transformation of her classical training to make a unique and simply ethereal sound. Purely her own. I appreciate her authenticity and loyalty to her own sound. Beautiful accompaniment from the violinist/bassist, cellist, and pianist.

Not many singer has the talent that she has. This is hands down the best tiny desk I've seen.

I really think that the reason this tiny desk is so good is that its so obvious that every single one of the musicians here is incredibly skillful and the featured artist allows them to shine fully. So gorgeous!
