For Honor - How to Gank

I've been collecting clips for this video for quite a while now, so some of them might be a little older.
This video is also obviously aimed towards people that play solo and not 24/7 in premades.
I'm also not claiming that this video has every single viable move in it. I'm just trying to present some options that are viable in these situations.
I'm also not very good at a lot of these characters, so the clips shown, might not be the absolute best ones representing certain situations.

This is a very underrated cc so I wanna mention it. When shugo lands a light or an uncharged heavy he can headbutt after it, THAT HEADBUTT IS A SHIT TON OF CC, you can land an easy heavy. This is extremely good in real 2v2s

You don't even need to do that if you position yourself so that you will not hit the Cent before he can jump. If you do that you can hit the enemy when the punch hits.

I cant stand players that cant team fight and just run up to the guy your fighting spamming overhead heavies that just feed them revenge and get you both killed. Ive gotten to a point in for honor where I never get salty at the people that kill me, You'll hear me screaming at my damn teammates for getting me killed by cancelling my animations with their damn light attacks. I swear theres nothing worse than guard breaking someone, going for that punish, and right before you hit them some dumbass peacekeeper runs up and light attacks them knocking them out og the stun so they can block your hit

Normally I’m fine with teammates but the ones that drive me up the wall are the ones that keep hitting you and not the enemy. They try to help but swing in the same direction you’re at and just smack you about. The only others that get irritating are the ones who come last minute while you’re on low health and take the execution. It’s almost everytime I get a guard break while me and the opponents on low health someone comes and nicks it 😂

Please if your character has a longer weapon attack from the top guard I can't tell you how many times a raider or kensei has stopped my attacks because of the wild swinging.

Jeeze, Freeze. I'm so glad you made this video. I've always assumed this was common knowledge, then I go into public and people fuck over my attempts at team play. It's made me start plugging in my microphone on PS4 just so I can explain to my teamates my plan. I'm still never sure if they can actually hear me, but if I set someone up for an easy kill and they flub it, it makes me sad. D: On the other hand, If I'm able to set up some huge damage and my team mates see what I'm going for, we usually end up winning/getting hate mail. I sure hope lots of people see this video, some people tend to forget this is a team game. 4v4 mode sucks if there's no co-ordination. ;D

Even though ganks in some game modes are kinda lame, they're also important pieces of teamwork that people tend to screw up easily (including myself) in others. This vid sums up what I'd consider everything you need to know about ganking, just speaking from my viewpoint of what I've learned from playing the game. The only other thing I'd add is that any kind of attack that can't be blocked is extra effective, as your opponent will usually be on the defensive. Besides that, this is a great video that deserves a watch no matter if you're a beginner or a vet. I think we all could get something from it. It's cool though how you end the video with a solid 1v1, as it's always the better alternative to ganking if you can pull it off, in my opinion.

One issue with using long arm with LB in a gank is that the opponent has hyper armour during revenge, easy way to get around that is to time the long arm after your teammate removes the armour so it’s just a matter of being careful and doing the move after the opponent has taken a hit.

This is a video I wish everyone else on my team would see as I tend have team mates who do not coordinate properly on the basic level (i.e Not attacking when someone can get off a really good OOS punish as the current player base can tell when it's happening or do not revive a teammate who can help even more in a gank situation or at least save time for that guy to become mobile without having to respawn.)

A very simple but surprisingly effective strat is to do a heavy into a heavy feint, the ganked player will try to parry it 7 times out of 10 (made up, you know what I mean) giving your team either a free parry if he doesnt feint his parry attempt or at least a free hit because he'll be stuck in the heavy animation (depending on the character he plays of course)

The MOST helpful part of this video, is the final statement (excluding the conclusion ov corpse). "Being the better person, and maybe show that player something he will try in the next game". These are very wise words, and I would feel shame if I did not attempt to re examplify this sentence. I am fairly new to this game, and I jumped in like a bat out of hell, not knowing wtf i was doing. As soon as i learned what a "rip tide" was, That all i was doing, and had no fabrication of "spamming" being a negative social construct. I would rip tide everyone i could, thinking i would be respected. It was only when i learned to hold my "Storm rush" as long as needed till i can confirm the kill, or feint and apply the "pressure of pressence", and even sometimes not do anything at all. An orochi's pressence is a beast of its own, given the stigma of it being the "spamurai" of For honor. This gives me an opportunity to mentally break my opponant, and cause disruption, causing him to feint a look to me, and lose his chance to counter my teamates Guard break. I am sure we can imagine what comes next in this sitiation, a free storm rush and execution....go figure. Thanks FREEZE! You really put things into perspective, and I learn more than u show, analyzing each video, and applying it to several different situations.

It's amazing how this video is over 6 months old and yet the majority of the time I still end up getting lumped with idiots that don't know this. I'm still relatively new to For Honor but this is one of the biggest reasons I don't play Shaman, I repped her once to become familiar with her moveset and playstyle and I don't think I can recall a single time someone actually let me finish the biting animation. Or like you said you guard break and throw someone either out of stamina or off a ledge when lo and behold your teammate heroically dives in with an attack that completely ruins your setup.

whenever i play in a team i always become the leader, i always say where to go an to group up and they usually follow, probs coz i show them respect by allowing them to get they're kills, i would just stand by watch until my guy is down or a second person decides to team up against my guy and step in. moral of the story you give respect and it is most certainly received, everyone who plays with always adds me for future games i rarely lose unless my team is absolutely shit lol

Ive been ganking better in Endless March. As Nobushi i like to do a top heavy into a kick + top light poison. Pretty much works flawlessly as long as you find a lane that doesnt have a teammate between you and the enemy
