I could be wrong, but when I and a friend tested back dodging from a kensei, it was possible for the Kensei to catch the back dodge. He simply had to delay the GB until the last few frames of his own dodge.

There is another important feature about initial guard stance position when you lock on. For example, you are a raider (Legendary), your default protection is to the right, but if you leave it to the left or top,and unlock, it will automatically return to this position the next time you lock on, taking into account the time required to change the guard stance from right to the left or top, so you just can not instantly lock and dodge the enemy's attack.

0:38 also : when you get counter guardbreaked,youre getting pushed backwards,use that to backdodge and you increased your distance to recover stamina,use it whenever you need and if they fail to counter the guardbreak,free dmg. You can pretty much force opponents to get your distance,so remember that.

I have observed that the "free" back-dodge does not work against certain bashes because your back-dodge recovery is longer than your side. Centurion's kick for example seems to be one of these bashes.

The back dodge thing is only interesting when the ennemy tries a second gb. I personally never do, and will most of the time use a gap closer when my gb gets countered. (Kensei or tiandi's forward dodge light for instance). So a useful tip, but if the enemy doesn't go for a second guardbreak, you'll just get a light attack in your face for free.

Another tips for traps that have a very larhe AOE like the nail bombs and fire bombs, since its so huge,some maps have bushes near the zones, like A, B, C zones and u can completely hide them, for maps with say walls, always put it behind it facing the wall, since it'll get triggered by the red aoe. And there for it will not be seen, mostly for the nail bomb because it releases smoke

The two things in this game that always fuck me over are feinting and counter guard break. I'm not focused enough to effectively use feinting, and i don't understand how the timing for a counter guard break works.

Von Steiner feinting is something you use when your normal attack chain isn't working, or you don't want a move to be completely committed, like a zone for example. A Counter GB works when they go to grab you and you press the GB button to push them back, plain and simple.

This was a great video but, at the beginning when you showed the first tip on getting a free back Dodge on guard break even went out of stamina too. I noticed you picked Berserker for this example while fighting a non assassin. So will this still be effective or able to pull off as a non assassin against any hero?

yes, all characters work. back dodges have been standardized, both in speed and distance. we did some further testing though. The dodge forward GBs from valk and kensei, have a very specific timing that can catch that backdodge. But no other character can. And it's also not easy to do.

I can also give you five tips to become the top player in this game.1) play only broken heroes 2)spam only lights and no risk to commit a heavy attack risks are for idiots and if you get parried you will be punished with a light attack.too risky. 3) spam only safe moves as I said risks are for idiots.4) go only with friends and do not think ever go alone because you have no change in a whole team.5) and most important run away from all fights go only gang your opponents and do anything else except running away (assasins are prefered for this job)if they find you on your own . so easy and simple . this in the 95 present of this game.
