What piano notes do you play at 0:20? Sounds really good. Nvm: I think it’s A4, G#4, A4, E5, right? Your reverb just sounds so much better than mine lol
@alexjunmusic
@alexjunmusic 9 ай бұрын
Hey! In this part I've played ''A7'' for the high note, and for the arpeggio is : E3 > F#3 + C#4 + F#4 + C#6 + A5 > G#4 > A4 > E5. For the reverb I used Valhalla Supermassive ''Lost Saucer Preset, Mode Hydra''

Wow amazing work!!!!! Any advice on building chords/harmony? I have a solid music theory foundation and understanding of scales/chords but I always struggle to build the right chord in my own compositions.
@alexjunmusic
@alexjunmusic 2 жыл бұрын
One piece of advice I can give you is to simply listen to music, take a song of the style you want to create (that you like) and study it. Listen to the song and write down all the feelings the song gives you and then analyze it to see why it causes those feelings. Sometimes you will see that it is a minor chord that is making the music sad, an atypical note of the harmonic field that is creating tension etc.. And so you increase your range so that when you want to give some sensation to your music you know exactly what you need to do.

for anime: use either 4 - 5 -6 or 4 - 5- 3 - 6 chords. there ya go, now you have an anime song

Hello! Sorry for the delay in responding, KZbin had not notified me of your comment and I only found out today when I was browsing through the comments section. The main Piano was made with the ''Ratio Free Grand Piano - Sine Player'', and the Piano used in the 0:30 arpeggios was the Soft Piano from LABS. As for the flutes, they were all from BBCSO Free.

I would like to code a RPG game and was trying to create music with FL studio but I honestly suck at it, and then saw your channel and I knew I would never reach that level so maybe its better to buy some songs from you. If you are up to it ofc we could discuss in pm or discord. Cheers

That was amazing. Do you have any tips on how to write in this genre?
@alexjunmusic
@alexjunmusic 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I think in any genre you want to write the most important thing is to listen. Listening to a lot of music and understanding what makes it sound that way. (Whether for effects, or transcribing the music to the Piano to understand what feeling each note brings). But in general Piano sounds and an accentuated Reverb in some parts are enough to bring that atmosphere of tranquility that animes bring.
@ivynyan
@ivynyan 2 жыл бұрын
@@alexjunmusic have you ever considered doing tutorial videos? Or maybe some dissection of how you go about composition and production? I've been doing music for a few years now and I'd love to see more of your thoughts and process.
@alexjunmusic
@alexjunmusic 2 жыл бұрын
@@ivynyan I've thought about it, but I don't think it would have many views, even the videos I post don't reach many people. Perhaps in the future this will be a better idea. And then there's the fact that my English isn't fluent so that would make tutorials difficult haha But thanks for the suggestion, maybe someday I'll bring a ''behind the scenes'' of some music.
