FL Studio's MIXER: Everything You Need to Know

That's the old way to route to the mixer.. Instead, Add the instrument/audio tracks by dragging a sample on to a playlist track.. Everything will automatically be routed and any automation you make for that track will be placed right under it in a group track.. Quickly add VST by pressing the plus icon right above Track 1.. Rename each track then highlight them all, right click on the track header to bring up the PL menu and select " Auto Name Clips". Now everything is named together, patterns, audio, automation, mixer inserts..

@@letsgoo4987 1. drag a sample from the browser to the playlist header " where playlist names are". 2. A pop up will appear asking to create an audio or instrument track. 3. select audio track if you want to mess with audio from the playlist. 4. select instruments if you want to use the channel rack sampler. 5. either way auto routes everything for you. 6. pressing the little plus icon under the cut tool from the playlist toolbar can add a vst to the first free playlist track.. 7. when adding an instrument track it also add a pattern for it to the playlist. 8. you can double left click on the pattern to open in piano roll edit view. 9. by double clicking on an instrument track playlist header " where you name the playlist tracks". it will open the sampler if a sample or the VST UI if a synth..

File>Export>All Playlist Tracks>From song start. Much easier way to export stems, without having to route everything to the mixer. Also you don't get that "Current" and "Master" file. as long as everything is organized and labeled in the playlist you can export stems that way.

I like the way YA MIX ME right thurr right thurr! Awesome podcast! Great tips as usual. You can also hold SHIFT + CONTROL and then click around and pick any tracks you want including dragging. Dont forget you can right click and then hit the underlined (underdotted) letter of the menu option you want if there is no "shortcut". For example, right click then E on a mixer track insert plugin will delete the plugin from the mixer track insert. Lofi sidechain tip from John is fire.

3:22 I found that when your in the channel rack & you highlight all of the audio like that, you can press "Ctrl + L" right there, & it will automatically route them to all of the mixer tracks that are empty

I export from playlist as a “track selected from track start to end of selection. That does the same as exporting stems from logic. Which is takes track one to whatever you are in and stems from there to there

Omg man I been cookin trance with 80+ tracks and I didn’t realize about the instant send to mixer from the channel rack ! I’ve been adding titles to each track in the mixer by hand and in the channel rack lol … what a game changer ! And it’s in order …! Yeesh haha 🎉

The "current" track in the FL Studio mixer is used to analyze every individual mixing track, if you load up SPAN frequency analyzer you can see the individual frequency response of every mixer track you have selected at that time.

13:52 I use the waveform view bc long ago i realized that processing could make you steam/clip sound loud and and then turn off FX and still hits around the same so i opted for waves and leave the leveling to my ears

Bias opinion but Im done with the Channel rack. I found it to be the thing that cause so much complications to the steps for aligning (playlist) and assign (mixing). Even found it more cleaner drum loops using direct on the playlist ( probably cus older FL made the sound better) . Dragging my loops to the track on the playlist or assigning to a instrument in the playlist which helps me keep them mapped/ titled/ and color organized. Channel rack can go

I am in the middle of organizing all my sounds (808s, kicks, shares, etc) Is there a way I can find duplicate sounds so I can delete them? For example if I have 3000 kick sounds & I have the racks kick original but out of those 3000 kicks 100 of them are the racks kick but all named something different... Can I scan or something to find out which kicks those are? #yougetme?

Why is there no way to export a single or a few tracks that I have selected in the mixer and have the effects from the Master track enabled? Everytime I try this from the mixer file settings, it exports without the Master effects. I know the split mixer tracks method, but that is not what I need. 🤔

Docking the plugin picker to the left of the Mixer? I've seen this done but have no clue how to do it.. I have a big screen and rarely ever have that many tracks where going all the way to the right seems unnecessary when most the work is done on the left of the screen anyway.. Comment if Ya mix me!

The mixer in FL studio is the sole reason why I stopped using this program. It is so overly complicated for no reason like why do I have to manually set a track to a channel? Every. Single . Time. Super slow and tedious workflow

I hate this mixer because it's an afterthought. FL Studio centers around the Browser and channel rack and then the playlist. It's worked the same way since FL10, it just wears make-up now. They need to make major updates to it. You can't know what I mean if you've only used FL studio and no other DAW extensively. It's like the step child of the family.

😂 i use fl voor beats, but mixing is a nono in fl, the metering is amateur. The reason you never hear cubase users promote Cubase, because its your own loss if you dont use it. Cubase 13 is next level. Ive heared the in Japan cubase is nr 1 by far. Probably EU also.
