I just bought a Fladen Immersion suit. I have kind of been toying with teh idea for months and already had the £200 put aside. Its the 845XY Model in the Black and yellow and it's a really interesting item.
As normal this is totally my own product, I have not spoken to or taken any money or benefit for this video. I just wanted to give fellow dinghy owners a better look at something that may be suitable to them.
Unlike a dry suit, these are designed to let water in. More like a wet suit. However when dry it's also very toasty warm too. So I am hoping something like this will be quite suitable on the Drascombe Lugger. Where you;re not wanting to get wet but you "may" get wet or take an unplanned dip into cold water.
The suit not only confirms to ISO 12402-6, which means it has bouynacy built in. In fact 70N of built in bouyancy if you opt for the XL.
It also conforms to ISO-15027-1 which means it's a certified thermal protection garment. In fact it's supposed to guiarentee only 2 degrees of body temperature in 5°C water over a 1 hour period. So if true, then you can see how useful this could be if we take an unplanned dip in cold water.
Enjoy!
