Thank you for the extremely informative video! I just want to say this is so annoying that even though the offices are supposed to be open from 8am to 12am, they only accept 12 applicants?! I thought I was just going to go there during the day and make a trip out of it (book a hotel, sight see and eat some delicious food), now this process sound so stressful!! Thank you!! Nothing needs to be filled in by us in the forms. They come pre-filed, all we have to do is submit at the required location whenever asked.

Alina, you don’t mention in your video that your school needs to be pgwp-eligible to do this in the first place. Not all schools are approved for pgwp, and flagpoling does not remove those restrictions. You are just Speedo g up the process you would ordinarily do via paper or online submission of an application. Also you say you don’t need a US visa - but in fact you are entering the US and being denied entry - that is the first paper you are given. That may not matter for the Canadian side; however if a person wants to apply to the US and has been previously denied entry- it complicates any application for a US visa in the future. Anyone wanting to do this should be aware of ALL implications before doing this.

Hey, yes this is an alternative to online or paper submission for speeding the process, I did mention you would require strong reasons while flagpoling if asked. As for the US visa, it isn't needed and denied entry, in this case, is for a perfectly legal reason. If you checked the comments one of us did file for a US visa and got approved even after flagpoling. But yes, anyone wanting to do flagpoling should do due diligence before proceeding. Did you get a full 3 years of work permit? Because I have heard that in this process people are getting 8-12-18 months work permit depands on the mood of officer! Overall great information 👍

Thank you! I am glad you found the video informative. I got work permit for the entire 3 years as I was supposed to. I don't think anyone was rejected the amount they should get. But again they can give you 3 years permit if your passport is valid until that period else it's until the passport validity.

The day when I flagpoled one person had an expired study permit and was asked to wait for online work permit approval. I would suggest to research first on online forums with similar experiences before flagpoling.

Hi, when you are through passport control and go to the other CBSA office for the work permit processing, is that in a place where a person who hasnt flagpoled with you (i.e. remained in Canada) can join you at the CBSA office? Thanks!

Hey, thank you! My reason was my Employer needed my work permit before I started working full-time hence I had to get work permit at the earliest. You can mention any specific reasons that might lead you to flagpole. The officers are quite understanding and helpful :)

I believe the bridges on which flagpoling is possible would be available on the IRCC website. I am not sure of other bridges but rainbow bridge was the nearest for me and hence I opted for it.

After receiving my PGWP I will have to apply for TRV extension as it is valid only until 30th sept, however I might me visiting family in that month so is it possible to apply for TRV outside of Canada? Hey, I am glad this video helped you :). As far as I know we can apply for TRV from outside Canada but I have read that it takes time to get your TRV and might delay your entry. I would suggest you do your research before travelling.

I have taken the 1+ 1 course and my TRV expired based on first course and i dont have any valid visa with me now. What if we don’t have the valid visa to reenter the Canadian Border ? Hey, thank you for watching the video and your feedback :) From what I have read and heard they don't ask us for a TRV but a valid status document i.e. Study permit is required. But again I am not an immigration consultant and would advise you to go through the IRCC portal for checking out the required documents. All the best😀

Expired TRV’s are not an issue for flagpoling but expired study permits is something they consider. I am not sure what they would do in such a situation. But if it’s not absolutely necessary to flagpole you can wait for your permit to arrive

I am sorry but I don't think I will have the right information. You can check on the IRCC site for this. I received my COG before starting my work day and hence did not work that day.

Hey, if you are authorized to work in Canada then you would be eligible for flagpoling. You can check on the IRCC website for the eligibility criteria and if you fulfill it, you can flagpole for work permit.

Hey, we can get work permit after completing our studies by flagpoling but you should have a solid reason for flagpoling, just in case if it is not work.

I am not the right person to consult as I am sharing my own experience here but when we are taken to confirm our documents we can have company is what I can tell you so maybe your husband can accompany you. As far as I know this shouldn’t affect your US visa, instead of you got US visa you can travel to the US I.E. actually cross the borders unlike me.

Hey, I am really not sure what the procedure could be for such a scenario. Maybe showing your work permit would help in your TRV irrespective of your application. You can maybe also attach an additional document explaining your online application while applying TRV. I would suggest you to research on this first.

From what I had read you don't need to explicitly cancel your application. It is done/updated by the officers when the document process is done while flagpoling. You can still cross check with the officers if it is otherwise.

We don't require any prior appointments. It's on first come first serve basis. I had read we could flagpole with expired TRV. Since you have valid study permit you should be good.

They processed only a handful when I had visited. You could try to go in in the afternoon maybe when they have processed all the morning applications they might process your application. I am not really sure of what happens in the afternoon. If at all you happen to go in the afternoon could you leave a comment too so that it would help others know what happens then.

You might have to look at ways to correct your name on the work permit after receiving it. I think flagpoling is only for receiving the permits but I might be wrong too. I am not a certified consultant.

Hey, I don't have any personal experience around it but I had read that if you have an online application and you do flagpoling then they cancel your online application. But sometimes they want strong reasons for you to flagpole so just keep that in mind.

I had a 2 year program and hence was granted a 3 year work permit. I don’t think the duration of permits change if you flagpole, the standard duration that you are eligible for is granted.

No, it didn't affect anything in your US visa process. Yes officers do have the record that you had done flag polling and they may ask you that you have a denied entry to US once but they know that it is for flag polling and is legal so it will not affect anything.

Getting your transcripts depends on your college's processing time, same for the Graduation certificate. I did use the Transcripts I got via email. Also, I guess the people behind me tried another time not sure what they did though.

Hey, so from what I know and have read they take a certain number of people in a day. When I had done flagpoling they took only 12 people while on some days they took 10,so it depends .You can try your luck. All the best!

Sorry if you felt like it was taking advantage but actually it is a completely legal process which is also a time-saving alternative. Some companies require you to have a work permit rather than an application to work permit to work. This is more of an information video and nothing else. Hope you have a great day.
