Wow. A video that's not just showing nice painted minis, but also teaches you how to actually use them in combat! More of these, please!

Great video! Discussing how to use the unit is very helpful to new players. Thx

Great review, especially for newer US players. Minor point, needed to mention the mortar team re-rolls hits being a single artillery unit & the effect of bazooka skirts which raises the side armor of the StuGs from 3 to 5. Much enjoyed. Thx.

Awesome, this is the first game that my Son and I got into seriously. He started when he was around 11, but we played LOTR and 40K among others.

I love these guys, thanks for a great review. I only disagree with keeping halftracks off the table. They add a lot of firepower both in offence and especially in the defence. Having 2 .50 cals as opposed to only 1 in MW, is a huge advantage. They go right through foxholes and airplanes. They also add a few hitpoints to the entire force, since each AT shot wasted on my halftracks, keeps my armored units that much happier . . . Anyway, good job . . . Cheers.

Thanks and I appreciate the comment. Deploying half tracks will always be a battle by battle judgement call. And I agree they add a lot of firepower, but if a Shrek, AT gun or tank blows up a couple full of Infantry it really hurts. But, like anything in the game, it's a calculated risk.

@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall One thing I wasn't clear on from the V4 rules for transports was if they could be on the table and unoccupied. In that case, it seems like it would make sense to have them hang out for the additional MG dice, which is what Marko seems to be suggesting. If they can't be on the table unless they're occupied though, then I agree with what you're saying. Thanks for the great videos!

Thank you so much! I just started playing US Boys after D-Day an chose Armoured Rifle Company as my favourite. Unfortunately I lost my first three games an really started to think how the ArCs could perform better.

you're welcome! What forces did you take your Armored Rifles up against? What do you feel gave you the hardest time?
@eskimojoe374 жыл бұрын
I still haven't played much FoW but I plan to finish building my v4 all plastic Doughboys this week and eventually, when I can find some space, I will build my complete v3 winter Armored Rifle Company list, really looking forward to getting that done!

Like you say at the beginning, seeing these drop down at the start of a match as a German player is quite intimidating. With the Careful rating, five bazookas and so many defensive shots against top armor, you can pretty much give up hopes of assaulting them off an objective with any AFV short of a Tiger. I do feel they struggle a bit blue-on-blue, as the new Churchills and upcoming IS-2s can be quite hardy against AT10, have top armor 2, and strong counterattack stat.

You are an excellent artist. You should make a painting guide video.

Make a video about the US rifle company!

I like the video, I think I'm new, with only about 5 games played, but I think the half tracks might work if you are dashing ahead to a drop off point. The dash is a lot faster than the infantry can go
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, the Halftrack Dash values are pretty good on road. As long as you can keep our of LOS of the enemy you should be fine

I've been working on building up my American army from the US Combat Command box and it's kind of fragile, but I've found that adding a second Veteran Armored Rifle platoon allows me to run it as a Company (and thus a second formation) to make the overall army harder to break and to better screen my tanks. I appreciate the advice on tactics, I've watched your video on the Assault phase but will probably need to review it more to get a clear understanding.

I've done exactly the same thing. (added a second armored rifle platoon and HQ unit to the Combat Command box to have 2 formations.) But I'm not sure when I take 2 jeeps for my HQ transport if they have to leave the table when dismounted. So I'm using the halftrack for HQ so it can stick around for the extra machinegun and AA. Now I'm trying to figure out how to use the 60mm mortars, and this video was helpful.

Hi John, ive been watching your vids for a few years. Love the content. A question I have is, im taking the plunge into FoW 4 and my group plays midwar. What are the basics of list building? Tips and tricks one can use and traps one might get oneself into?
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I hope to add more tactics videos. I did post a list building video a few years ago talking about my Midwar US Army list. You can check it out here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/raSVoXVmeNiNm7M

@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall Thank you! I didn't find that when i was looking around yesterday. Seen it now and got a prototype soviet list going. going against my better judgement to paint a 'reduced' company of soviet SMG bases, reduced to only 15 men plus flamers and komissars

This game looks cool. I've never played and don't really know what flames of war is but the pieces and the detail coupled with the historical accuracy really piques my interest.

Man, i thought I commented already. I’m learning FOW at the moment. So that platoon as built all has to say within 6” of the platoon leader? Because that seems like it would be smashed together very tight.
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall3 жыл бұрын
If the Unit/platoon has more than 8 stands then you can be within 8" rather then six. It's not bad though, as long as the Unit leader is in the middle you can have your unit cover 12"/16" inches in a line. You can also leave units out of command if needed.
@daddex92223 жыл бұрын
Great vid as always. Very informative :) Why not just leave the half tracks on the table to give 'free' fire support using the Unit Transport rule? I agree moving infantry around inside them can be very risky, but unless you want to preserve them for later, why not use them empty, it's a lot of dice to self delete for no reason??
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall3 жыл бұрын
Good point, Halftracks can throw out an obscene amount of MG fire.
@PanzerSchule4 жыл бұрын
Great FOW tactics.

@Cherokie893 жыл бұрын
Can’t you just leave the half tracks empty and following the platoon around as five extra MGs? They’re free so might as well use em
@PeldiraS4 жыл бұрын
It’s sad that the best infantry platoon in V3 is now the worst to take. So expensive for a 4+ assualt. I think that BF messed this guys points :(
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall4 жыл бұрын
Get's worse. 5+ for assault for the Bazookas. Still pricey but, at least in my experience, still worth it.
