Honestly, _all_ PC98 characters that came back were reworked: Reimu's classic shrine maiden uniform was discarded in favour of her current iconic one; Yuuka got a haircut and became a flower youkai rather than a dream youkai and she also mellowed out considerably; Alice grew up, became a puppeteer and her connection to Makai hasn't been mentioned once in the Windows canon... Honestly, I dunno if I'd _want_ Mima to come back if she didn't do so as Mima!Classic... I think I'd rather remember her for who she was, rather than have her back as someone who's not the Mima I remember...

So much has changed during these few decades and many mysteries never to be answered, beings disappearing without a trace and an entire race driven underground. But there will come another time when all of the past will rise from the ashes, sparks will burst into flames and flames will spread into a wildfire. A revolution that will cause a massive ripple within Gensokyo's very infrastructure. Many would find this threatening and no soon as change begins, war shall ignite and darkness will reign across the skies across a peaceful illusionary world. And when the ghosts of the past rise, there will be one that will be at the helm of it all. The one who will return as a force truly to be reckoned with, a former denizen of Makai's hellish realm with all but potential evil intent. And her name... Her name... is... *Madam Mima.*

I think ZUN should more canonically distinguish her from Marisa, since most people know her for two Master Sparks, or a much large Master Spark, both of which Marisa has used, as Loving Heart "Double Spark" and Perverse Love "Easy-Harvest Master Spark". Perhaps she should be more distinguished in her ability to "grow" anything, be they plants, or, supposedly, even attacks. Therefore, I think Yuuka should be in a fighting game. Honestly, ZUN already pulled Fujiwara no Mokou out for 14.5, he could do the same for any previous characters. I sometimes wish ZUN would hold like a vote between 5 characters as to which one he should add.

I'm honestly curious as to what she'd be up to. A random incident that also happens to power her up seems like the perfect time to go ahead and pick fights. Maybe she was picking fights elsewhere, and/or attempting stuff that would be stupidly suicidal for just about anyone else.

Ah, the origin of everything, i'm never gonna have enough of the PC-98 era, is so beautiful and i might won't have nostalgic feelings since i don't have much time since the first time i played a Touhou game but still, is amazing

And then Yuuka appeared as a background character in HM. Also she actually appears semi-frequently in the mangas. She never _does_ anything, but she does appear. The reason she was introduced in PoFV according to some sources is apparently that Touhou was ending, so it makes sense that ZUN would bring back an old character for the grand finale including pretty much everyone he could think of.
