The differences in difficulty between Yuuka and Gengetsu I think show their character quite a lot. One holds back, the other doesn't. *Yuuka:* Haha, this is going to be fun, I'll go easy on you so lemme mess around. *Gengetsu:* You just beat up my sister. I'm going to leave you as nothing but a pile of ash for that. Even the themes seem to reflect that. Yuuka's two themes are powerful, but playful. This theme? Is quiet, and menacing.

The exact reason it's my favorite extra stage, if not for the appeal of fighting 2 mysteriously powerful characters in a row. It's amazing how the stage feels so difficult and then all of a sudden you've cleared it. Everything is intimidating on a whole new level which is alot of fun IMO. The theme "Cute Devil ~ Innocence" hides something in it. I think it's ironic to have the term "Devil" in her theme even though she looks like an angel(and her form might be one of her illusions). And the word "Innocence" isn't really that innocent, something that is unreal or fantasy with her and the scenario. Her theme may also sound terrorizing and mischievous, as her appearance can deceive your mind(why do you think there's a "Devil" in spite of her angelic appearance). Maybe the moon(I mean the extra stage background of hers') has to do with their (illusory) powers, and uhh... ...unfortunately, the points of the scenario are insufficient since we don't know why the heroes are there(in Mugetsu's Fantasy World), or maybe, ZUN intentionally concealed the story behind that world. As her name states "*Gen*getsu", she is still, somehow, considered a notable boss for Touhou Gensoukyou besides Yuuka. Edit: (*sorry for my bad English, I'm not native to it)

It's always neat when someone does a Fanfic correctly. Looking at you KKHTA and Imperfect Metamorphosis. Even though I liked the idea of Rin as a character, it had too much nightmare fuel to be fun. That's what I view Touhou as. A happier version of a myth that was disturbing at first. If people make a grimdark version of Gensokyo, sheading every last ounce of sympathy from the characters by making them psychotic or manipulative, why bother. Good Luck making the world of Gensokyo I know we can make. With how many disturbing events there are in these Fics, we're going to need something to lighten the mood and to remind ourselves why we cared about Gensokyo in the first place.

I swear to god, the extra stage boss themes ALWAYS go faster past midnight! Not just this one, but ALL OF THEM! FROM EVERY GAME! The percussion at 0:16 that's supposed to start off slow and then quickly speed up starts at its regular speed right from the start! Am I going crazy?!

Hmm. I don't exactly see why everyone thinks she's such a hard EX-Boss. I think it took me less tries to beat her than it did Suwako. To put it in perspective, I've still yet to even get close to beating Alice or Rika, but Mugetsu and Gengetsu took me like 4 or 5 tries in subsequent nights to beat.
