I got my grill used, it was an expensive grill and the seller sold it simply because the igniter and burners where rusted all it needed was replacing the igniter and burners and saved myself hundreds of dollars.

That's awesome that the protection plan came thru with the parts....no hassle....I've always had my doubts before. Looks great now!

Doing this now for my Dyna-Glo which is 8 years old. You got a heck of a deal. Don't believe in extended warranties and this certainly proved me wrong.

Any idea how to fix where the tubes attach? Mine rusted out . The little medal parts where the clips go
@flannelguydiy6458
@flannelguydiy6458 4 жыл бұрын
Ana, when those small metal brackets break off, there is really nothing you can do there. However, the burners should still sit in that spot even if they are not secured. As long as you are not rolling the BBQ grill around too often, they should not move

So after 3 years you have to change the grill you can’t just clean them? And my bbq got a littl rusty and got a hole next the burner why can i dot to fixe it ? Because of it i can put my reflective shield

The metal grates had split open. Once that happens moisture enters and the heat from the burners turns it to steam. Once that deal is broken they deteriorate very quickly whether you clean them or not

And grates for about $10, and ignitors you can get online somewhere probably for about $5. If you look around online for ANYTHING you can usually find it cheaper now.
@flannelguydiy6458
@flannelguydiy6458 5 жыл бұрын
Sure, you can find anything cheap if you want. However, when I fix or replace things, I am looking for them to last and not rust out again in just one year. If you like, guy buy cheap junk and see how that works out for you. OR.. just go find yourself a cheap used grill on craigslist for $20 and don't even fix your grill.

good video. but instead of spending $500 plus a protection plan.......You could buy a grill like yours in used condition for next to nothing. (I've gotten them FREE) Then spend $100 to fix like you did!

Can you tell me where did you get those prices from for those parts. Because i went to home depot and everything is so expensive that its better to just buy a new grill. Now im talking about a $250 grill not a $500
@flannelguydiy6458
@flannelguydiy6458 5 жыл бұрын
I went direct to the manufacturer of the grill. I do not recommend getting generic replacement parts from Home Depot. They probably will not last as long either.

To really save money, get the grill used to begin with for free or just a few dollars, then buy the parts and end up exactly where you are now without the huge investment!

We do this with all of our gas grills, if we can find the parts! Believe it or not, for some brands of grills, finding compatible parts can be difficult. It really extends the life of your grill and your investment, great video! Thanks so much for sharing, Flannel Guy! Have a wonderful and blessed day ---Stacy 😍❤

Thank you Stacy. You are right in that it can be difficult finding the parts. Sometimes that goes into my decision making process when buying a grill. The Sams club thing is really great because their extended warranty is so cheap. They HAVE TO get the parts for you. Otherwise, they have to buy you a new grill.

Flannel Guy DIY - I know, from first hand experience, because we bought a Member's Mark gas grill with extended warranty about 5 years ago. Ordered the replacement parts, they were so great on the phone, said they'd ship them right out, then we got a voice mail, email and eventually, a check for the full amount of the original grill. We were floored, and tell everyone we know about it! I was flabbergasted when my husband wanted to get a new gas grill last fall, and he didn't buy another MM from Sam's. They have my total and complete support now, but he wanted to try something different :) Great video! Have a blessed day ---Stacy 😍❤

It’s as though a breeze blows the flame out (with a “sneeze” sort of sound), but there is no breeze. Flame is a perfect blue. Pressure seems ok. Flame simply sneezes and goes out. Sometimes comes right back. Sometimes does not. 🤷🏼‍♂️ -B

@@billware6721 I've noticed my flame is weak if I turn the heat adjustment knobs up and then turn the propane on. I always keep the adjustment knobs on OFF then turn my propane on, then turn the adjustment knobs to HIGH for about 10 seconds(lid open) then ignite. I'm not a scientist but I think you need to purge the air from the burners first.
