These are designed for listening to loud music. They aren't designed to be better at blocking sound than other earplugs. They give you more top end fidelity than regular earplugs.

Just to let you know ,you have the foams installed incorrectly ,you need to push the foams down further so they are flush with the metal body . Good ear plugs however they are uncomfortable for using whilist sleeping ,every time I wake up my ears are in pain from the metal pressing against my ear (they have now made minis to remedy this).

Thx for you're review, can't wait to get mine. You mentioned that you didn't want to pull the foam of, cause you just got it on. - Were you experiencing anything unexpected when putting on the foam? (Fragile? To soft? To stiff? To slippery? etc.).

DOKNielsen Nope. They just click on.. Super solid.. Historically.. With other brands like Shure e 215 It's a pain to take earbuds off once they are on. I haven't tried with these ones. Didn't want to bother.

BEWARE !!! - If you think putting these in your ears with produce silence then you are wrong. I purchased a pair for me for band rehearsals, for cutting out the jabbering at work in the office when I am trying to concentrate and a pair for my wife to block out my hog like snoring. I just put them in and dropped the featherlight packet on the table top... I heard it! Maybe they cancel out harmful sound waves at loud gigs but they certainly seem to have less impact than those squishy yellow things when it comes to cancelling sound around me. As for my wife wearing them in bed that would only work if she never slept on her side as the metal bits hurt when you put your head on the pillow. So CAVEAT EMPTOR ! Frankly I think the sellers should be clearer about what they do.... there is a huge difference between creating silence in a room with people talking or snoring and blocking out excessive volume at a gig. They appear to be CRAP for the former and I am yet to see how they perform for the latter. Some of the advertising I have seen suggests that they do both. Ugh u aaah.

I am in the Philippines and need to block neighbor's "music". It is over a km away and there is no music, only a deep rumbling *thump*thump*. Would these block that? Currently I use a titanium pair of J4 earbuds (JLab Audio), and I play a white noise recording of a jet engine. It allows me to sleep but I would like to get away from the cable of the earbuds, and recharging my iPod.

The only thing that will help you is something active like the Bose QC20
