Im convinced that Capac has stockholm sydrome with space engineers. I remember Splitise saying he didnt like the game all that much a few years ago, and now he genuinely seems to be enjoying himself!

I seem to remember Splitsie taking on larger vessels because while Splitsie was equally competent at taking out drones or larger targets, Capac and TFE apparently were only competent at taking out the drones. I distinctly remember Splitsie having to bail them out a few times when they took point on cargo/military vessels and bases.

If I remember correctly, the drills would have to be placed one or two blocks further away from the rotor. It's one of those typical SE quirks. If you know, you know. Have you ever thought of writing these little tips n tricks down somewhere? It's things like this I record on datapads in my survival world. I even have "Data-Books" about geometry and mathematics and physics. Including all the block angles, forces (of Thrusters, Rotors,...) The "Book Of Colours" is used for lights, blocks, ... stuff I want to be consistent. It's so cool to be able to look something up or record new insights, slowly filling the book shelf! I love the Datapad. I'm definitely going to write a Journey-Diary-Thing, too at some point.

Splitsie sees armed and intact drone - jumps down in front of it and gets blown to Bitsie by the rocket launcher, flies back to get his backpack and then calmly moves in front of the SAME drone and gets blown up again... Maybe it's too early in the day for you, Splitsie, perhaps some breakfast would help... Do you want some butter for that Croissant?

I've had success avoiding damage on small grid drill conversion by adding a conveyor frame on the advanced rotor, then the converter. Or place the converter, then on the face use small conveyor tube to add in 1 more small grid space between the drill and the rotor.

pretty sure those flares can distract turrets as turrets see it as a rocket and last i recall they will target them, so if capac doesn't waste them he could launch them near where you are storming

If you put a LG hinge before the dril then you could have used the LG rotor to dig a larger hole as it was spinning. Now you can only drill a thin tunnel forward with a useless rotor.

I was almost expecting your ally (Purple) to comment or as if there is anything you guys wouldn't turn into a rover. You really need to take away Capac's rocket launcher, ammo and flairs. If he wants to waist the ammo then he should have to make his own and repair damage he causes to Your and TFEs vehicles. I think it was 3x3x3 conveyor or medium cargo to stop the drill sub-grid damage. When I saw you build that I wondered if that bug was still around.

The small grid drills damaging the large grid rotor is annoying. I've solved it just by putting more space between the drills and rotor. Two conveyor frames is enough to do it.

About drill damage: i belive that SG drill operation spere is colliding with LG rotor - have 1 block spacer in there should fix it ...

I remember having similar damage issue on drill setup as you had. In my case simply increasing the distance from rotor was enough. Like one or two of those 3x3x1 pipe pieces, should suffice i think.

So taking on the larger target from outside its gun range is more dangerous than taking on multiple fast moving drones?

I think it's more staying completely still to shoot something while a bunch of drones are fighting around you.

Managing range from a moving target while being an easy target for the drones around you, instead of, just keep comfortably clear of a thing while actively targeting the drones. One of those is definitely less risky if you're doing it right, but not if you face plant the drones 😂

You seem to not understand how "clearing a path" works. You managed to clear a path to the target, but failed to take advantage of it on your return. Maybe you couldn't see it because of the trees? Try rotating your suspensions 90 degrees and using the full width of the megarover to clear a path. You'll see it for sure.
