for me, this song has always been incredibly, crushingly lonely, something to accompany me on my worst days. to hear so many people singing it fills me with some sort of catharsis that i can't quite place. beautiful reminder that i am never alone

If you want to sing along and be part of this beautiful experience, here you go: What a beautiful face I have found in this place That is circling all 'round the sun What a beautiful dream That could flash on the screen In a blink of an eye and be gone from me Soft and sweet Let me hold it close and keep it here with me And one day we will die And our ashes will fly from the aeroplane over the sea But for now we are young Let us lay in the sun And count every beautiful thing we can see Love to be In the arms of all I'm keeping here with me What a curious life They have found here tonight There is music, there is sounds from the street There are lights in the clouds Anna's ghost all around Hear her voice as it's rolling and ringing through me Soft and sweet How the notes all bend and reach above the trees Now how I remember you How I would push my fingers through Your mouth to make those muscles move That made your voice so smooth and sweet And now we keep where we don't know All secrets sleep in winter clothes With one you loved so long ago Now he don't even know his name What a beautiful face I have found in this place That is circling all 'round the sun And when we meet on a cloud I'll be laughing out loud I'll be laughing with everyone I see Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all

When I saw NMH play in Denver in 1998, I felt like it was how religion was born- that the joy in the room was vibrant/vibrating. This reminds of that feeling- a chorus singing it. Beautiful.
@jessicawatson8913 жыл бұрын
thank you so much, this reminds me of primary school so much. my grade had about 300 kids, and we all felt like a huge family. most of us went to year 6 camp and i remember sitting in the gym with everyone playing games, sitting in the restaurants chilling out with each other and making dumb jokes, wow i remember how abeni and jhett actually talked and how people used to joke about alex and i's last name... i remember ice-skating and feeling so free and welcome with everyone, i remember sitting on the bus and admiring the view of the skyscrapers and scenery in brisbane. we went to the science museum and everything, it was so great. i miss being 11 again. how was this only 3 years ago? highschool feels so independent, like we have hundreds of teenagers in my grade from different schools but i have always felt disconnected from everyone. i don't think i can ever sing as a group and enjoy my life like how it used to be. i miss feeling like i had another family when home life was complete shit. man... thanks to all of you for making this video, i'm so sorry for dumping this crap in here. i'm crying my eyes out sorry , fuck i feel like an idiot, i hate my life, i dont know if i can even do this but this video hits me right in the heart and reminds me of how far i've come ... i dont know.......
@re_i_gn3 жыл бұрын
Hey don't be sorry letting your thoughts out here, we all need it sometimes. I've done my fair share of ramblings on KZbin myself haha. I think it's really just a safe place for people like us, how we could just dump all our feelings onto one place whenever we're feeling overwhelmed. I don't really have anyone to talk to in real life about this stuff so a random comment section is the next best thing for me. It's therapeutic and it calms me down. I just turned 21. I don't wanna pretend like I got my life figured out and I got things in order because I mostly don't. But I'm here to say that things DO get better no matter how tough things seem in the present. I don't know how or why, but they just do. Heck, I just typed out some rambling about my suicidal thoughts around 3 months ago under a Mac Miller song. That album, 'Circles', ultimately ended up saving my life during one of my worst depressive episodes so far. Fast forward to now, I've done a lot of improvements on myself and I'm pretty far from that dark place. I'm quite proud of my current state both physically and mentally. Still not fully happy, I don't think anyone ever is. Will I return to having those dark thoughts at anytime? Most probably. But I guess what keeps me going is the thought of how I have to keep going for those closest to me and who I care about the most, in my case it's my sister and dog (Ceasar). I can't bear the thought of leaving them. Also the vision of a good life with a loving family in the future. It's nice to imagine how I'll be looking back at my darkest moments when I'm playing with my kids, and thanking my younger self for not giving up.

I was curious about the diversity of the singers, and specifically wondering about the lady (I'm assuming a mother) comforting her mentally challenged companion on the left 3rd row. I then read the "How it works" section in the description and it finally made sense, and damn that made me teary-eyed. This sounds like a phenomenal experience. Wish we had something like this here, but I live on the other side of the world. Much love to the participants and the organizers! We need more of these open communities built through arts.

I have just watched several Flash Choir videos and I love the expression and effortless, unscripted connetion to the singing happening in the room. From spontaneus choralography, glances and eye contact of joy between friends, to free phycials expression of neuroatypical singers. Truly what community singing should be. Lovely x

Man this is truly beautiful. It reminds me of when I got to see NMH live in Columbus on the 2014 reunion. There wasn’t a single phone out or even annoying drunk people talking loudly thank god lol. I’ll never forget hearing a sold out crowd sing every single lyric to every single song and in between clapping be DEAD silent. It almost felt like religious ceremony especially when they started plying carrot flowers pt. 2 lol
