Am I glad i subscribed... :-) This show ran on swedish public service TV around 1977, never seen it since and never thought I would again. What are the odds? Big thanks for yet another fine share, your channel is truly one of the best on KZbin.

My 30 year old son and I will be watching this tonight! My dad was a radio engineer who started very young. He loved science and sci-fi, and I remember him talking about going to the movies with his brothers to see these films. As a teenager, he got a job with Sears and Roebuck, repairing radios. I think he said he got 25 cents for each one he fixed, and he was good at it so he was making good money during the Depression! What he didn't spend on movies, he used to buy model airplane supplies. Back then, they weren't kits. He made them of balsa wood, canvas and wire. He joined the Army at 17, was sent to Hawaii right after Pearl Harbor. Because of his knowledge and skills building and repairing radios, he was put on a special secret assignment he couldn't even tell his family about. He installed sonar in submarines back when it was the latest tech. I know his folks were glad he wasn't put in the infantry and sent to Europe, and from the photos I have now that he took in Hawaii, he was a very lucky young man. Seems there were a lot of pretty girls in Hawaii, who dressed "comfortably" for the warm climate, and he enjoyed taking their pics! After the war he went to work at KVET as a radio engineer. KVET was started and owned by veterans of WWII. Part of his job was developing techniques for sound effects. I loved hearing his stories about how radio dramas were often performed live in the studio (no audio tape yet), and how he helped bring them to life with his sound effects. He really enjoyed the interesting radio talent he got to know, several comedians and early DJs. His favorite was Professor Longhair, a funny and talented jazz and blues musician from New Orleans who visited the station often who he became friends with. KVET was unusual back then because they welcomed multi-ethnic talent, unlike most white-owned stations. Most likely because they served together in war time and became brothers in arms. Dad did not tolerate racism, and I was lucky to be his daughter and raised to respect others. He would be sad to see that racism is still prevalent in 2022, 26 years after he died.

@@PizzaFLIX Right on! I love your content because it not only makes me feel connected to my parents who I miss very much, but it's a wonderful way to share memories with my son of his grandparents who died when he was just a kid. I never thought I'd have the chance to see the actual films and people who influenced my parents when they were young. Thank you! ♥

The grandiose music is taken from Franz Liszt's symphonic poem "Les préludes". To save some money during production at that time is was a custom for Universal to rely on pieces of classical and romantic composers for their horror classics ( "Swanlake" by Tschaikovsky as title credit music for "Dracula" and "The Mummy") and serials, because in doing so they hadn't to pay for a newly composed orchestra score. This could save quite a lot of money. By a dark irony of history it happened that the segment from 2:35 onwards was also used during that time ( WW2) by the Nazis in Germany, each time when a "new glorious victory" of the "Wehrmacht" was announced, as the title fanfare for each new episode of the German "Wochenschau" ( ,the equivalent of Fox news,) a weekly news reel , that was shown in movie theatres before the feature movie started. Kind regards from Germany !

The tv series I recall watching during 'childrens hour' on local tv , when it functioned about 12 hours a day . This is one series I don't recall . Same cast though + sound fx , spaceships with exhaust smoke going upward . For what was about in the day , things were made well & this sort of stuff was popular like "The Lone Ranger ; Stingray ; older Superman ; Zoro ; along with others of earlier eras . Some of these , my Parents would have seen as children , if they got to the Saturday Matinéé like , "Ma & Pa Kettle " ; " The Lil Rascals " ; "Junior G Men " .👍👀😄😱🤔🤗 Namaste 💐🙏❤️🙏 Thank you ❤️💐 Pizzaflix , much appreciated .

At 28:18 they start honking to warn flash his ship is on fire but flash won't stop . I think the brakes quit working and you can see the ships wiggling . But this precious film had to be used for the movie after the crashes that killed many of the spacemen and destroyed the craft .

The music of Franz Liszt's "Les Preludes" is heard throughout this series. It is different than many other versions of Les Preludes as some has a predominant piano running through it. I would like to get a copy of this version - without the dialogue.

As a boy my dad used to go to the "flicks" to see Flash Grodon (must've been re-runs, or he was having a joke!) and he was delighted that this was shown on t.v. in the late '70s. I think he was a bit disappointed that bro' and I preferred Space: 1999, although bro' and I used to make up adventures based on Flash Godron and record them on a cassette machine (We had Professor Keating and Emperor Pong! Well we were only kids!)
