The more I see that Sharks alt, the more I love it. I was definitely skeptical at first when you released your last video, but actually seeing the jersey itself has been a breath of fresh air.

I saw a mockup where the Islanders jersey had the lighthouse (from the 90's shoulders) instead of "ISLES", and that looked great even in monochrome. It always seems like the Islanders are so close to making an amazing jersey, and end up falling flat every time.

I think Lou has a big say, so the fact that they even went back to the Fisherman for the last RR had me optimistic for this Stadium Series one. Too bad they went back to boring.

@@KevinQ25But even then Lou just half-assed it. I mean, everyone wanted the Fisherman and we got it, but the striping in the RR is awful and nothing like the OG. It also removed the orange and light blue contrasts, and it missed the lighthouse shoulder patches, which are amazing and we have never seen them again in an Islanders jersey.

The Flyer jersey is a banger! Also me and my friends were split 50/50 on either hating or loving the jets jersey. The sad part about the isles jersey is that all you need to do is add 2 letters and boom it's an Oilers jersey

One thing I noticed and wanted to point out: you mention the simplified Adidas logo present in these Stadium jerseys, which we have only seen in the RR2.0. I checked the store and the new logo also seem to be on this year’s All-Star Bieber jerseys.

Not usually a fan of two tone jerseys, but those Devils sweaters are hard. Black and Red really underlines the devilish colour scheme. It also allows the logo to shine. Hope they will look good on the ice

I’m digging the stadium series. Granted the Isles look like a simple vanity jersey sold at a clothing store, but That makes it look more everyday fashionable imo. Those Rangers numbers look sick reversed reminds me of the early 90’s Patriots away jerseys that I liked so much. You know how much I love traditional looks and the Flyers always get a pass for me and love the black bar wrap around. And as a boy born in San Jose, I am loving the Hispanic influences in the new Sharks jersey. I would buy all the jerseys in this video.

I already liked those sharks jerseys, but the explanation behind them and unveiling video make them that much better. Although the agressive shark redesign was cool enough when it was introduced, it feels a bit oudated. The original shark for me is timeless, but it might just be nostaligia speaking. Seeing the team lean towards a more sutble yet very evocative shark design is welcome shift. Congrats to the design team

10:35 This section raises a question for you Chris. With the Adidas era possibly ended with the breakdown of these designs, how are you, as a jersey enthusiast and analyst, feeling about the future of your channel, your passion and NHL designs as a whole with the Fanatics take-over? I know there is close to nothing in terms of information when it comes to what Fanatics has in store for us, but what is your gut feeling about the transition? Your tone at the time stamp sounds a little mournful, hence the question.

Feeling surprisingly good about it, really. A lot of the designers being hired by Fanatics have worked for Reebok and Adidas so we know NHL jerseys will remain in good hands. There are also some great new voices joining in. I think my only worry is on the retail side. There's still a lot of evidence that they're overwhelmed leading to subpar products for consumers. But we'll see how things go as they become the NHL's exclusive provider next year. As far as changes, it's not likely we'll see anything sweeping (i.e.: new templates, etc.) until at least 2026-27. Mostly it seems like they'll stay the Adidas course for now as they get up to speed on all the manufacturing processes.

With the exception of the Isles, the Stadium Series jerseys are just great. The Devils jersey is simplistic yet classic, and i wonder what it would look like if the colours were flipped. As for the Rangers, it's only natural for that design to be adopted by them. By far the best design is for the Flyers. I also happen to love that Cali Fin jersey. I actually wonder if that Chevy is indeed Raffi Torres' chosen ride.

Great video as always Chris. Love the Sharks jersey! They always look sharp in black, but this might be my favorite one of theirs yet. The Stadium jerseys didn't impress me as much. The Devils one looks good, but is a bit 'heavy' on my eyes, coincidentally like the previous Flyers Stadium jersey. Philly's new one is good, reminds me a bit of the Coyotes jersey worn prior to the current Kachina, or at least the black arm stripe does. The Rangers have the better jersey of the remaining two, but notging to write home about. And the Isles... eh. Even just having their NY logo (of the previous Stadium series/3rds) would have made it instantly better. This wordmark just kills it. At least it's better than their previous wordmark jersey.

The team’s fans like the stadium series quite a bit, I wonder if the team will retire the “jersey jersey” after this season and replace it with the stadium series one or something similar to it as their new third 2. The game the Devils wore the black helmets on the road they lost 4-0 and snapped their non-shutout streak which was the longest in the NHL at the time, probably a superstition thing as to why they haven’t been worn again

Everyone says the Flyers Stadium Series jersey looks the same almost close to their away jersey, Love the Devils Stadium Series jersey, Rangers Stadium Series jersey is alright underrated, the Islanders Stadium Series jersey love the color but putting ISLES on the front everyone says it looks close to the Oilers Alternate 3rd jersey and the Predators Stadium Series jersey that says SMASHVILLE on the front when they played against the Lightning I think Lou Lamerillo had something to do with it, The Devils Stadium Series jersey is the best one out of the 4 jerseys.

Great Video as always, I love the New York Rangers Stadium Series Jersey I love the in depth details on the word mark and numbers, however I don’t like the Flyers Stadium Series Jersey I don’t like that reverse name plate and numbers and I don’t love the Devils Stadium Series Jersey either if it was outlined in white I would have liked it more and I don’t like the Islanders Stadium Series Jersey either because I don’t like the orange stripe in the middle that wraps around to the back of the jersey I don’t like the word mark either if it would be orange with blue trim instead of blue with no trim and if that stripe wasn’t there I would like it,I love the San Jose Sharks Third Jersey I went to Mexico during Christmas and New Years this year and I loved the art work on there blankets and that San Jose went in this direction is pretty cool I also love the crest and the black base color.

My takes: Devils - I like them. The two-tone black and red scheme works, and is visually distinct from their mains. Solid entry. Flyers - looks okay, but to be completely honest it doesn't seem like it is different enough to warrant being highlighted as a unique thing. Not bad, but forgettable. If these were introduced in a random Flyers road game without any fanfare, I honestly wouldn't have noticed that the jerseys were new. Rags - stands out from their other jerseys at least. Not bad as well, but kind of average overall. Isles - good idea for a shirt design, but as a jersey? I will actively think less of any fan that I see wearing this in the wild.

Great Video keep up the great work, I don’t like the New Jersey Devils Stadium Series Jersey if the crest and numbers was outlined in white I would like it more, I also don’t like the Islanders Stadium Series Jersey I don’t like the orange stripe that is in the middle and wraps around to the back of the jersey, I don’t like the numbers and name bar I like it if they removed the orange stripe and the name and numbers were orange outlined in blue instead of blue with no outlines, I also don’t like the Flyers Stadium Series Jersey because of the reverse name plate and numbers if it was normal name plates and numbers I would have liked it, I like the Rangers Stadium Series Jersey beacause I like the details on the crest and numbers, I also love the San Jose Sharks Third Jersey because I like the hanger design, I used to play in the ocean when I got the chance as a kid and it makes it look like you’re being swallowed by a shark when you put the head through, I also loved the sleeve stripe because I went to Mexico after Christmas and I loved their artwork especially on blankets and I love that San Jose decided to do artwork from that part of the world since California is very close to Mexico and the style looks like waves and like I said I loved playing in the ocean when I was a kid so thanks to Adidas team for making this happen I also love the second logo on the on the crest it looks very new and fresh from the Sharks I also love the name plate and numbers for the previous reason I love the black base for that other reason this jersey is a nice change of pace for the San Jose Sharks.

Haha, yeah they didn't even wear those Cooperalls for those Reverse Retro games. They were just for warm-ups. Too dangerous in a high-speed game environment. They make you slide too much when you hit the ice. But that's a throwback thing anyway. Stadium Series is supposed to be more futuristic in nature. (Whether it is or not is open to interpretation.)

As a Jets fan, I would like to see the 48 jerseys as the third, and save the throwback for specialty nights. DO NOT promote those to the primary. I love the blue on blue, and for me as a Clevelander, it's way too much like the Browns going back to their old-school jerseys. I really enjoy the Sharks. However, the Stadium series is a whiff in my opinion. The Devils are my favourite of the 4. Philly is nothing special as most of their speciality jerseys. Islanders could have done a lot better😅. I think they should have had a stand alone fisherman (with no net) but that’d be off brand for the Isles. The Rangers is nice, I didn’t like it at first, but the more I look at it the more I like it. I hope the Devils replace the Jersey jersey with this one as an alt.

My Stadium Series ranking is 1) Rangers 2) Devils 3) Flyers 4) Islanders. Rangers is great execution of enlarging aspects of their normal uniforms to be presented at stadium scale. And reversing the number/letter colors is a cool choice that makes them feel different without altering too much. The Devils removing white from the jersey make it feel distinct and bolder, plus that supersized NJ without the circle really sells the look to me. Sometimes simple is fine and the crest does the heavy lifting here I think. I do agree that the default block font number feels kind of average. Maybe they really didn't like how the normal Devils font looked when elongated? Flyers is interesting for the nameplate stripe effect but I wish they could've done something with the crest (all their stadium series merch lacks a uniqueness to it compared to the others as it just uses their standard logo with no way to recreate the embroidery effects you see on the jersey's crest. And then I actually like the old school aesthetic of the Islanders jersey. Feels like something you could see from an old black and white team photo hung up in an old memorabilia shop. Definitely has the vibe of something Lou Lamoriello had a bit too much say in either way. Excited to see all of these on the ice as I plan to be at both games that weekend!

@@icethetics haha like take the rangers for example, home and away jerseys are basically the same minus colors, but the third jersey is a totally different design as is the stadium series jersey. The flyers seem to just put their logo front and center and change the colors and design around that. They’re cool jerseys for sure but it would be nice if they made a drastic change for either the third or stadium series vs just the usual flyers logo on the chest.

San Jose should adopt that alternate as their new primary. The cartoon shark biting the stick is one of the worst in the league, it looks like they bought it off some dude who was doodling on a bar napkin.

The artist is Terry Smith and he’s designed every Sharks logo since the franchise’s creation. And I don’t know, maybe we can dislike a logo without disparaging the designer who’s been hired by a company to provide specific artwork?

@@icethetics I am critical of the artwork, didn't say anything about the guy in particular. My analogy about the quality of the work is meant to convey a lack of skill and craft. I know in today's society we aren't supposed to hurt people's feelings but that's the problem in that mediocrity becomes the norm. We are a long way away from the days of Saul Bass... If this same guy did the new logo, then I'd say he did a nice job with this one.
