FLASHBACK: Skaife V Ingall in 2003 clash | Supercars 2020

During race 2 of the 2003 Championship at Eastern Creek a battle erupted for P4 ending in contact between Mark Skaife (Holden Racing Team) and Russell Ingall (Stone Brothers Racing).
Each was penalised for their part in the incident. Both contested. But only Skaife's was upheld.

For good reason too. I actually met him and he posted for a photo with me when I was a teenager, and while he was perfectly pleasant then, I suspect he was a bit of a knob when he saw red. I agree with Skaife's comments as the end (and I saw this as a FXG XR8 owning ford man).

I'm Ford all the way but Ingall totally 100% crossed the line there. Rivalry is one thing, but running a guy off the road to ruin his race is another - even if it is Skaife.

@@jonathonpursell1268 both were fined $10.000 for the incident (Ingall's fine was $15k initially but was reduced on appeal). They were also put on probation for 1 year, threatened with a 3 race ban had they re-offended within this same period, and docked points in the championship (-220 for Ingall, -135 for Skaife).

Yep. I'm a Ford man but I always expected that it would have been the blue oval to have pulled out of the series first. :( These were great years, though, back when the BA came out and we dominated. Much better than the dark AU years.

Totally Ingall's doing there. As Skaife said they had a little bit of touching on corner exit because it was a close pass - But you can see Ingall correct his steering and THEN turn further to Pit Skaife, just a silly high-intensity moment more than anything but very silly. And sure Skaife shouldn't have stayed on track to have a go at him but that was just flat out moronic for Ingall to then swerve a 1.5 Ton supercar at him.

BS. Skaife squeezed Ingal off the track then played the victim. Skaife is as shifty as a dog shot in the arse. Ingal did nothing wrong until Skaife ran onto the track.

I’ve never liked Ingall after this incident. I may not like Skaife either but Wtf was Ingall thinking when he tried to steer the car towards another driver like that. Proper rivalry is like we had with with Murphy/Ambrose as an example since it was just harmless handbags really but this here crossed the line.

Skaife was as much to blame but it was ingall that copped the big fine, Supercars stewards have always had their faverites and bad guys like Ingall , Morris , Lowndes and Murphy that they would fine or give drive throughs and still dose in 2020

To be honest I think you'd attract a lot more viewers with these flashback snippets than a whole race.. Kayo would be the appropriate place to view full races. Supercars are doing a good job, especially with their e-series event.

Have a good look at it. When Ingall turned hard right and spun skaifey there was about 2 metres of road on ingalls left. Ingall had heaps of room but purposely punted skaife off.

Disagree hard. Got the inside of the corner, didn't run all the way to the outside. Ingall barely runs a tyre off the circuit, then he pushes hard into Skaife to turn him. I think he was pissed at making the mistake that let Skaife through.
