Having suffered poop chute blockages on a Bambu X1 Carbon I'm not totally surprised. My guess is that R&D's testing was intensive on PLA but not so much on TPU. Then a test site decided to hammer multi colour TPU (something my Bambu couldn't do in a pink fit) and found the scrunchy poop had a lot more surface friction Vs PLA and non flexibles. And bingo, a last minute problem has arisen. Embarrassing as it is to find out after you have production line built a bunch of printers, but Kudos with biting the bullet and resolving to fix the problem. My 5 Toolhead XL can handle doing multiple flex filaments, but it's not as simple as feed and go (which hopefully the AD5X is). The feeding tension has to be manually set on each extruder to suit the material, hence the reason I'm looking forward to it hopefully being more straightforward to swap materials.

There is a small problem it appears that depending on which shipping option you have chosen the extra filament type changes. in my email it is written : "For those who choose to continue waiting, we will send an additional 2 rolls of TPU filament (worth €56) as a token of gratitude for your patience." !
@cem_kayaАй бұрын
4:50 interesting in the email directed at me flashforge did not specify those materials just TPU.

For me they said "2 rolls of PLA filament"

I really really REALLY don´t understand why they chose 220mm as their bed size...just why ? Making the bed 30-40mm wider and longer does not change the design much, it basically does not increase their costs, only slightly but people would be thrilled.

Yeah, if it were helmet sized or bigger, it would probably be one of the best printers anyone can get their hands on. 😅

That's the one thing that Anycubic did better with the Kobra S1 - 250x250x250. I am still debating which one to go with.
@to-mi194918 күн бұрын
@@Davids3DProjects I'm in the same boat. Honestly I would wait a bit before ordering a printer. I have a feeling we will get something really really good, very very soon. The Kobra S1 is only a 3 cm difference in build volume, and the price is higher than the flashforge 5M as an example. It's not worth the extra cash. I have a feeling we will soon get a printer that is at least 300×300×300mm and has those things from other printers: cheap, corexy, 1000mm/s print speed, multicolor, ooor even full color printing with ink because someone has cracked the code of how to do it in a cheap way. If you need a new printer fast though, I would just buy the 5M honestly.
@sierraecho88417 күн бұрын
@@Davids3DProjects True, IDK i that really was the only thing though. Does the Cobra habe a quick change nozzle ? I don´t think so. Also last time I saw the AD5 (without X) for 250 bucks new. It´s up to you man, but I would skip the multi material nonsense ans wait for either multi color if that´s your thing or multi material with dual nozzle.

But it's better that way than if it causes problems for the customer later. I also think it's fair of Flashforge to give a 10% discount or to include filament.

just thinking that maybe the print head? and 'ADX' can be purchased as add-ons? to 5M?
@Liberty4Ever13 күн бұрын
FlashForge has been adamant that no matter how much previous customers want to upgrade to AD5X capabilities, they can't, because the improvements are incompatible with previous FlashForge printers. People keep asking, at times almost demanding, but the answer remains "no".

Bambu P1P, P1S, X1C all have poop chute backing up problems. And they never have fuxed it. Ive lost several 15hr plus multicolor prints because of the backing up of the chute which as it accumulates it cause a glop of death on the nozzle

The verbatim post that was displayed on screen mentioned nothing about TPU or flexible materials, only "certain materials". Honestly doubt it is a TPU issue since that was the main competitive selling point of the printer outside of the price to entry for multicolor, core-XY. I would assume it has to do with some particular variations on filament or even a specific transition of filaments (ie PETG to PLA) or something like that which is causing probable backflow up the edges of the nozzle and making it harder to expel through the poop-chute
@FigureFeedbackАй бұрын
You're right, I didn't realize that about the on-screen posts. An email I got from Flashforge specifically mentions flexible materials. That must have been on my mind when I recorded this.
@IFaTaLGeaRxАй бұрын
@@FigureFeedback ah okay, I ordered through Amazon so I don't think I will be getting any contact from FF about the delays but dang if they really do have a problem with flexibles specifically then shoot thats wild. I'm mostly picking it up for multi-color PLA/PETG and for using 0 clearance PLA/PETG interface material but some prospects of fused in TPU also interest me so hopefully they get it corrected fast. Gonna have to reach out to FF and see if they will extend the filament offer to Amazon orders.

I think offering filament is BS...how about a camera, enclosure or extra nozzle. I paid the extra, may get refunded.

Maybe they'd accommodate if you'd ask. One of those is probably cheaper than the filament.

After.I got this news.I went out and bought another P1S Combo. Was going to cancel, but might wait until after my XMas market next week. If I do well enough to pay for the P1, then I might just keep it and sell my A1 since I'm moving towards a CoreXY farm (for the space savings).

I'm not surprised... Why would anyone even want this build plate size? They should make an xl first then smaller
@Liberty4Ever13 күн бұрын
I almost always want a larger build volume, but I have a print farm use for the AD5X for a family of products and I'd be happy with a 150 mm x 50 mm build area and 200 mm of Z axis travel. I actually want the printers as small as possible to fit as many as possible in an area and use less power heating a smaller build plate.
