These tutorials are spot on! If it wasn't for them and the support shown i would not have been able to do it. But just to add an extra step for those who may need it. After flashing stock firmware, the bootloader (OEM) stays unlocked, meaning that things like GooglePay and some bank apps wont work. The way to fix this is by re-locking the oem after you have flashed your new stock rom. Here are the steps to do that (since it took me a while to figure out and there is hardly any info online) - bear in mind this works if you have NOT tripped Knox and its using a stock rom and do these steps at your own risk - always have a backup just in case: How to re-lock bootloader (for S20): 1. Turn off your device. 2. Press Volume down + volume up and insert usb cable to your phone to start the download mode 3. Read the text below on the Download Mode screen to block or unblock the Bootloader. 4.- Long press the vol (+) button to enter unlock mode. LOCK BOOTLOADER SCREEN: 5. Read the 2 options available, one will say to lock the lock the bootloader, the other to lock. Press the relevant volume button (was down on mine) until the phone restarts (this will erase your data and restart automatically). 6. Go into developer mode and then uncheck the unlocked oem option, restart your phone. That's it! Now you have a device with an OEM locked, so everything will work as expected, again, as long as its a stock rom and you have NOT tripped Knox by root etc.

Sir , i am using S20 plus USA AT&T variant in bangladesh.. i didn't get any update till now. Can i upgrade my firmware to global room to get further update without lock my sim service and if possible which way i should follow...??
@ExplainingAndroid3 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with changing to a "global" rom since I just stick with the region that comes with my phone but you should be able to install new AT&T firmware updates. you can follow this video, but when installing OTA updates like this, you pick the HOME_CSC file so you can keep your data

my s20 was originally from verizon. and i swapped to att. it worked fine for about 6 months until they shut down the 3g towers. now i cant receive or make phone calls. att told me i have to delete the verizon firmware from the phone and redownload the att firmware to it. figured that was ATT's job but i guess its mine now. is this how i would do this? or do u have a recommended video for that? im lost. and dont wanna buy ANOTHER phone. thanks.
@ExplainingAndroid2 жыл бұрын
yes, this is the process used. you'll just download the carrier firmware for your s20 model and flash it via Odin

@@ExplainingAndroid thanks for the quick reply! Would this be likely to get my Verizon phone to make calls for att and make it have att updates? Does it mess up any apps or anything? Changing firmware.

Bro, could you help me?, I rooted my phone, all works fine, but now when I turn on my phone it tunrs off by itself immediately. I reverted the root, and install Original Samgsung Firmware but problems persist.
@ExplainingAndroid3 жыл бұрын
beyond a factory reset (which is what your original firmware install does), i honestly can't recommend anything that would fix this issue you replacing the firmware with a new copy (to revert root) eliminates all possibility that this rebooting thing is a software related issue. so I suspect it is a hardware issue

for usa snapdragon get patched odin factory reset s20 instead of U you should be looking for U1 files from your model number. samfw.com is a good place to find firmware fast and free. works for my note 20.

you don't back up data from recovery mode, sadly. it isn't for recovering 'your data' instead, it's for recovering the android OS data to stock I'm sorry

@ExplainingAndroid3 жыл бұрын
do you use it with an ATT SIM card? I've had verizon phones that won't detect OTA updates until an active verizon SIM card is in you can manually update the phone with Odin similarly shown in the video here. the only difference would be to use the home_csc file instead (as that lets you retain your personal data) if you need a video dedicated to the process, stay tuned to the channel here. I should be able to plan one out for the Galaxy S21 Ultra I have (again, the process would be the same) i have a couple of videos that I need to do first, but I could do a 'how to manually flash an OTA update with odin' video that you could follow for the ATT S20 FE (even though I label it for the S21 ultra)
@acts22113 жыл бұрын
@@ExplainingAndroid I just had a brand new SIM card put in today at the AT&T store and I've been using the SIM card the whole time . no dice. I'll definitely stay tuned for future videos . appreciate the prompt response. Point well-taken about the home CSC file however no matter where I look I don't see any updates for the firmware specific to AT&T. I was nervous about using unbranded carrier for the firmware.

Hi, i have purchased s20 ultra online from USA which is Att carrier and the seller has the code to unlock. Which i didn't knew when i make abid on it. Anyways now i have the phone and since i am in Qatar and its att network. Still works after unlock. Is it possible to flash the firmware of att and upgrade to unlocked firmware of my region.
@ExplainingAndroid4 жыл бұрын
yes, but since it's an ATT phone it can only be "sim unlocked," not "bootloader unlocked." I don't think the Qatar firmware works for the Snapdragon/ATT phone. you're going to be stuck with a Snapdragon-based Samsung firmware/CSC
