To clarify a point made in the video: the TS keyboards come stock with 2 Meg of sample memory; equivalent to 4,000 blocks of sample data. The expander kit boosts your TS's sample memory to the maximum 8 Meg capacity, and you'll be able to load over 16,000 blocks of sampled sounds (8114 blocks in Bank S8, and 8191 blocks in Bank S9).

Do you look at your subscriptions feed? All videos that your sub'd channels post are listed there. Hello. Super good video! How you backup your scsi2sd on pc? I lost all of my beats because the sd card is broken! It‘s a shame. I don‘t want this again. Do you have an advice for me?
@HankCoffey
@HankCoffey Жыл бұрын
I use Macs, so I use DD commands in terminal to make an exact disk image of the SD card. Then it goes to my normal file data storage. If I need to restore to a new card later, I use Balena Etcher to flash the Image to a new SD card. Ensoniq format is alien to computers. So you have to copy/backup by disk sectors. It's difficult working with Ensoniq data.

I put in a Gotek USB in the floppy slot... because SCSI on a TS is read only. You still need the Floppy platform to save stuff.... My SCSI2SD stuff is mostly CD ROM libraries.... It still works great.

Great video, Hank! Only problem I got, the SCSI partitions don't show up on my menu. I've loaded the XML, looks legit. Then I hit refresh as you did, but no baaammm ... just nothing happens :( Any advice? Thanks, man
@HankCoffey
@HankCoffey 3 жыл бұрын
What menu? Translator? I'm just a hobbyist that was tinkering with these boards for a while. They are in storage most of the time. If you are using translator, make sure you have "use XML settings" checked. Then you have to format to Ensoniq, and Translator will do the partitions. I don't even know if you're using translator, you have to specify.
@eduard_schneider
@eduard_schneider 3 жыл бұрын
@@HankCoffey yes Sir, in Translator Free on a Mac, just as you did. I manage to format the SD card partitions on the ASR-10 via SCS2SDv6 but Translator just won't recognize it as a proprietary device.

I've never used a Zulu, I never work on these keyboards anymore. The only thing I can recommend is to contact Samplerzone and see if Garth will help you. They sell the Zulu units I think. They just left for vacation though. So it will be a week or so before they will answer email probably.

good evening do you sell the img files with the banks inside I can't put my .hfe files in my sd thank you
@HankCoffey
@HankCoffey Жыл бұрын
.hfe files are images for Gotek USB drives to mount. SD cards need to have the actual instrument files on them. You will have to make your own SD cards using something like Chicken Systems Translator. It's not an easy process. My SD images are useless to you unless you flash your drive with my xml settings.

@HankCoffey 3 жыл бұрын
SCSI2SD is pretty complicated to setup. Once it's set up though, it works. The hardest part is getting files on the partitions where the machine will read them. Ensoniq is a real pain in the az. Akai would be easier.

@HankCoffey
@HankCoffey 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, SCSI2SD units are multiple drives internally on the same board. They have to be flashed with information so each drive knows what sectors of the SD card to use, they each have their own section of the SD. Once setup, you don't have to worry about it. But they are more complicated than the USB drives. But way faster.
