Recently Olight sent me one of their products to test; the Marauder Mini flashlight. This light offers 7,000 lumens of power with multiple modes in a rugged, waterproof package. The controls and lens are sealed, and the charging is via magnetic cable, so there are no ports or holes in the case. It's conveniently small and portable, and held up well to real-world testing in some underground tunnels.

Olight is all I own! My EDC is a Warrior 3S, but I have the Marauder Mini and absolutely love it!

If the charging cable isn't proprietary, then I would say it's not an issue, I think most of us have extra charging cables cuz that's usually the first thing that breaks on almost anything!

I worked at the factory, just in case your charger doesn't work remove the battery and put it back in, if that doesn't work unplug the charger from the wall and plug it back.

Thanks for the tip! I did notice an issue like that the last time I tried to charge it.

ya i wish they made longer more durable chargers too. with the green light i can see so much more then with the red and blue, and definitely not as harsh on the eyes.

Interesting, I’ve been thinking of upgrading but honestly I prefer set it and leave it settings, not complicated dials that get accidentally changed while in the midst of working.

This would be a pretty sweet light for certain urbex, or boating like you mentioned. A little too overkill for my needs, but still neat

I'd like to see a v2.0 with an LEP for the throw light and replace the rgb leds with white for more flood lumens goodness

Far as I know the green one won't interfere with a person night vision, so I read? Personally have no use for the RGB feature. Olight Marauder Mini is my favorite Olight flashlight.

This light is definitely for olight fans but I have the baton 3 and baton 3 pro max and the size per power is absolutely insane baton 3 is smaller than my index finger and it’s one of the most portable things I own and brighter than any flashlight from Lowe’s or Walmart

Green light is good for illuminating shapes. I prefer it over red and find it less harsh for night work. I forget what blue is good for.

Would using a angle grinder with a diamond tile wheel on it be useful when mining tunnels in sandstone? I thought about building a handheld 4 wheel unit with a vacuum box on it, to do some tunneling. The vacuum removes the sand so you don't have to haul it out. I do realize it would take a large vaccum.....I was thinking compressed air and a venturi effect could be better....maybe not. Im tunneling sandstone now, and thinking of more efficient ways to do it.

An angle grinder does work really well. I've found the fastest digging is to carve out a grid with the grinder and then pop out the chunks with a demolition jackhammer.

Completely unrelated but I noticed you had an Apple watch on and wanted to ask you what model it was? Also, I just found your channel but I enjoy it quite a bit. You are a very interesting person in the best way with the most obscure interests from satellite interception, underground tunnels, submarines, and railroad vehicles. Anddd you just seem like a very kind and friendly person.

My right ear enjoyed this video. 😬 As far as the flashlight, I would never buy an Olight because of their silly charging mechanism. It’s such a shame, too, because otherwise they seem to make some nice lights.
@saveitforparts
@saveitforparts Жыл бұрын
I actually kind of like the charging mechanism, keeps the sand and water out. I also like the big 2,000 lumen lights that use a million AA batteries, but they're expensive to feed.
@ephektz
@ephektz Жыл бұрын
@@saveitforparts My only issue with the charging mechanism is if it breaks, and you need a replacement immediately, you’re going to be SOL. I guess I view these kinds of tools as something that should accept abuse, and that cable is such a weak link.

He's reviewing it. That means critical consideration of the product. If you'd like me to crap in a box and give it to you for free, I can. "Is this a box of your shit?" "It is. But I gave it to you for free. What are you complaining about? Lol. Now go tell everybody how great it is because it cost you nothing."
