THE greatest band of my generation!!!!! My favorite band of all time is Pink Floyd, but Radiohead is a close 2nd. "OK Computer" is the "Dark Side", "Sgt. Peppers", "Who's Next", "Disraeli Gears" for the kids who grew up in the mid-late 80's and were teens in the 90's. They have other brilliant albums that are pure art, but "OK Computer" is a rare breed. It's a "perfect" album, those just don't come around very often. In my opinion the music isn't the only thing that makes a particular album "perfect". It's the message, the content and the timing of it's release. This is why "Dark Side of the Moon" was a perfect album, it was released at the right time, with the right content, on the right format....quadrophonic mix. The 60's-70's had dozens of bands that just oozed great albums, my parents were lucky as shit....I had Seattle, Pumpkins, some decent metal bands....and Radiohead. Everything since then, has been total SHIT!!!!! Kids today haven't even heard REAL music. It's all overproduced, auto-tuned, image based, plastic, brightly colored corporate horseshit. "Hail to the Thieves", indeed.
@carlosmiguel-ld4rz8 жыл бұрын
hey, don't believe it's all sh*t nowadays. My fav band is Pink Floyd and I think it will always be. And my top albums always have 2 or more PF records. I discovered Radiohead last year I guess, and Ok Computer has risen to a solid 2nd place. I agree with you when you say Dark side is a perfect album, as Ok Computer is. And that's due to the amazing changes between songs, the atmosphere, the lyrics, the great moments. I can compare the passage between Any color you like and Brain damage to the one between Climbing the walls and No surprises. Both are truly genius. But don't make the same mistake i did for years. Go "out there", discover new bands. Listen to Muse for instance, they are a great band and if you put aside the Radiohead influence (only present in the first album, and that is completely normal) you'll find some great moments there as well. In my opinion, they haven't release a "perfect" album yet but I sure find 4 or 5 to be quite genius. Another bands you can try - Haken, for some more heavy, cool, progressive stuff. Also Riverside and maybe Porcupine Tree. And there are tons of others. If you enjoy Genesis I'd say Big big train is a way to go and even if you don't enjoy Genesis. The thing is: What's good is almost always hidden beneath the surface. Dig it up. Progarchives.com is a good place to start and YT of course. I hope you find good new bands. I sure love the feeling it brings me :)

same here. My favorite band is pinkfloyd and the second is radiohead. Their music is very meaningful to me. I also like The Eels it would be the closest band that brings the same emotions to me as Radiohead does.
