Hey!! Love the video! I'm born and raised in South east london and i'm renting in east currently. The safer areas in london that i'm familar with are defo West and North West and towards central however can get abit more prices. If you did want to check out South east, it has some beautiful flats in North Greenwich, Greenwich as it's upcoming and the transport is good. However, I wouldn't go lower to Welling, Sidcup, etc as transport isn't great however there is some flats/ houses with amazing storage but older and run down. South east/ South i would say can feel abit unsafe unless you are used to it- East london is the same dependent where you are, some of it is upcoming areas but still far from safe. Anyways hope this helped, Goodluck and i hope you find something you love soon !!! :)

Thank you for your super detailed comment Joanne! I agree, we are looking for somewhere with links to the city for sure. That is the other allure of the north side of the river! Our current approach is to visit everywhere we can and then decide on the exact spot. The price in NW London is crazy, especially considering how ridiculous London rental costs are already so we are keen to explore some new place for the short term and see how we like the vibes!

Haha! Exactly what I was going to say! North Greenwich is great. Woolwich & Charlton are also a good option now with the Elizabeth line. I know the area pretty well if you need any advice. 😊

Hey! It's really interesting to know what the prices are at the moment, so thanks for your vid! Do you mind me asking how much you are paying for your co-living space? It sounds like a good option for moving to London :)

Hi Ruby, thank you for your comment. The prices are varied depending on the length of your contact, how many occupants and type of studio. It is between 1600-2300 per month, and we are paying in the middle of that for our current space. Soon I will be uploading a tour of the folk@Palm house, but they have some new places opening soon as well. I think it is a good option if you like your own space (not subletting or airbnbing), it’s cheaper than a hotel, has many additional things such as the gym and coworking space. It is good for us in the short term ☺️

Hi! I'm also a fellow ANU grad and looking for flats in London :) I enjoyed hearing about your process as it's literally where I'm at rn. I just had a question - how did you go about the guarantor situation? Did the co-living space require that?
@Brindarcey Жыл бұрын
Hi Melissa, sorry for not getting back to you! The any rental in the UK will require a guarantor unless it is a private rental or you are subletting a room. For UK homes, your salary usually needs to be 30 times the monthly rent. If you are joining up with people or you have a partner it can be the combined income of the tenants. At first we just paid our rent up front as we also wanted to make ourselves more desirable as applicants as we don't have a true rental or credit history in the UK. I hope this helps!
