Hi Wayne, I picked up 13 last Thursday, biggest was 65cm, they really like the edges of the weed patches on the dropping tides further up the passage.

Yes indeed it does, never let anybody tell you that flathead is a summer species, I fish the passage near every weekend and the flatty start to fire in April and by October its back to just catching a few if lucky.

Hey mate, how long does it take to get there from Scarborough marina? Could I do it in my 3.7m tinny with a 15hp?

It’s 11 km. I do it in a 3.99 Stacer with a 30hp. On a good day yes but you can put in at Spinnaker Sound.
