Flathead fishing the Swan River | Light Tackle Fun

Summer means flats fishing in Perth and one of my favourite things is to chase Bar Tail Flathead in the shallows.
light tackle fishing isn't something i do often, but as a close to home fish that i find fun its good to do something a bit different every now and then.
Gear used: Daiwa Infeet 702LRS rod, Daiwa Luvias 2500 reel, Tasline 12lb line, Daiwa Presso minnow 60mm.

A little bit of Xmas wrapping ribbon tied to a treble and a small bit of lead is also really effective.

what lb leader do you use for flathead generally?

I normally run about 8lb as they do have rough mouths. Can go lighter but safer to keep about 8lb I think

Vexon bank all depends, I try and fish tides and depending on how much water is falling or rising onto certain flats.
