Off to a good start. Your fenders are a lot less rusty than mine on the Merc so they should come off without much trouble.

Thanks I hope so. I like the fact that most fasteners are bolt and nut so even if they break there isn't an issue. I forgot how solid these cars are, when I stood on the front bumper, to pull the rad, it was like standing on a piece of concrete. Sadly I can't find front drums at a decent price, or at this point "any price" so I will have to do something different. I might need to install disks up front. This car is going to be a daily driver so that might be a better idea anyway.😀

@@MatthewBerginGarage Kind of shocking that good used drums are not available. Lucky I didn't have to do anything to mine except wheel cylinders.. Should be an interesting job converting yours to disks.

I have new wheel cylinders and flex lines but I also need drums and backing plates. There is an almost total lack of spare parts for the older cars in Ontario due to the use of salt in the winter and metal recycling for the steel mills. Even at the swap meets the scarcity drives the price up to ridiculous levels that I won't pay. Wilwood Brakes make a nice disk system that is a direct swap. Not cheap although really well made with 4 piston brake calipers with stainless steel pistons. It should bolt right up to the stock spindles. I am already converting to a dual brake system so I just need to add a proportioning valve.

I’m in a similar place with my 53 customline. Just replaced entire fuel system and doing 12v conversion. Trying to get it to move under it’s on power first then the real money gets spent on entire suspension etc...

Thanks for the comment. Nice to see someone else doing a Customline. I rarely see any at the shows. You should post some vids of your beast. I'm heading to the car today to remove the fenders. Also check out the front end to see of anything needs replacement. Eventually I'm going to undercoat the entire frame and inner fenders with POR15 and chassis coat to stop any rust.
