Wassup slick, SPANKY here. Another great video. Im not a ford guy, but that falcon sure was nice. The 67 shovel is killer, even though it's only HALF a panhead. Just remember, PANHEADS FOREVER.

Wassup Spanky!!!! Thanks bro, and I’ll admit i hate ford!! (Go f’ yourself SKI) 😂 yes it may be just half a Pan, but I do have a Panhead that I’m negotiating for, so stay tuned you might be seeing another bike added to this channel!!!! 👍🍺 FOREVER PANHEADS. PS I hate that I ever agreed to continue to say that with you!!!! 😂😂😂 my Flathead, my Shovelhead, and my two Ironheads are getting kinda pissed. My evo and twin cam kinda understand!! 😂 and my Triumph , nobody listens to her and how she feels!! 😂😂😂👍🍺

Yeah I'm just going to all over the place with my S&S carburetor not sure reading stuff getting stuff from S&S site.. it had the 29 I put the 31 pilot jet in it and the 72 main jet it is a 88 inch stroker.. that's about the best I know about that motor. Once in awhile it will die at an intersection but fires right back up and I have it set it idle about 8:40 maybe $900 RPMs. I have points in it it's an old set of points I had from the 1980s that I think they came out of my 73. I don't know if that's it I did order some new bluepoint or blue something, points when they come in I'll put them in right now I'm having to I ordered I keep losing or making space in my clutch lever. I take the slack out and after I've been riding you know a day or so the slack is back in there so something is wearing. So I ordered a new throwout bearing and the push rod the whole set up there with the washers and everything. The last time I had the clutch apart it did have a funny way of looking on the end of that long rod.. that goes to the transmission.. I remember this happening on my 73 and I kind of drilled the end of the rod and I put a ball bearing in there..I think later on they did something like that commercially but I don't remember but I think that was probably cuz the hardness of worn off the end of that rod.. not knowing much about this five speed transmission apparently it does have all Evo internals.. show the cat is for an EVO style throw out bearing push rod etc
@HeinzyHunsinbigler-ok3cy3 ай бұрын
You need a set of rollers. Spin the rollers and you can start them up. I always wanted to make a setup. Some guys use another bike,but I wanted to do it on the lift. Use a half inch Milwaukee drill for the starter. Fourth gear and braap braap... I've started many things with a drill over the years

Sometimes I wish I had gotten an original motor and transmission in that 1980.. I guess it's upgraded and all and it moves pretty good but it tends to go through parts of all that horsepower..
@SlickHeadCustomCycles3 ай бұрын
Yeah, that’s definitely a downside of more horsepower. I’m a stock kind of guy myself. I don’t like soupin’ up bikes, plus I’m not at a drag strip with my bikes. Out on the streets, I tell my buddies with all these big horsepower motors. We’re gonna get to the bar at the same time whether my motor is worked or not.😂😂😂😂 👍🍺

@@SlickHeadCustomCycles I hear you there. But this is my second attempt the first one that I bought off of eBay was stolen that was nice..😡😮. Second was through a recommendation and yes I would have preferred a stock one but this isn't crazy but I'm learning.. on this motor he is nice to have the five-speed in the spethe cases.. one of these days I'll take a look and see what kind of Cam is in it right now it has solid lifters and it's quite noisy but that's not all the noise I'm sure the noise is from The rocker box left to right movement of the rocker arms.. I did order a hydraulic conversion which is going back which is actually should have is hydraulics through Wheels through Time. They sell a lot of parts do not going to use and I definitely been buying a lot of their parts... That might be a winter project though....

Nothing wrong with a well-sorted Tillotson DC, midrange is adjustable on the bike. Please don't fuck-up the original backing plate, V-twin sells one to fit the S&S. Frame covers are a pain in the ass & must be removed to check the oil. See ya @ Oley 🤪 Stop by area 51 for a few 🍻

Hey slick what is your take on what makes the muffler turn blue I have that problem only on the back pot both plugs read perfect some backfiring on the back off???😮
@SlickHeadCustomCycles3 ай бұрын
My take is in my case with the Shovelhead and also with the 64’ Panhead, it has it as well in the same spot, but it’s quite possible each bike could’ve been tuned a little wrong and were running lean, which intern is running hotter to cause that issue in the past and with the shovelhead it’s not a true dual, It tees off and goes to both mufflers right out of the exhaust port on the rear cylinder, I think that’s the same with the Panhead, so possibly more heat is building up on the right side of the bikes causing that Bluing, but again i’m no expert but those are my thoughts. A lot of bikes do it , so also maybe it’s not the end of the world!!! 👍🍺 SLICK. We’ll find out, if I get my muffler shiny again and I tune the carburetor in real good, then kets see if it ever blues back up, and how long does it take!!!

Bluing of the mufflers is usually related to a lean mixture issue resulting in the pipes overheating. The popping is also a symptom of lean mixture, commonly known as a lean pop. Once you remedy the lean problem you can polish that blue off, with a buffing wheel is easier than by hand.
