Flats to one House - Heating Conversion

A tricky pipework layout spread over three floors was always going to be challenging. I have tried to simplify the system by using A Viessmann four pipe set up that has hot water priority and smart app control. The copper pipework runs were awkward and working out all the existing systems was stressful. But I think we got there is the end!
A pink airing cupboard paired with a high efficiency Gledhill cylinder providing all the hot water needs.

Hi lovely job, I stopped using viessmann because of the instruction situations. Now I don't know if the reg changed but you also need a cylinder demand terminal box with a 2 port because you've used a third party cylinder!!! The joys of German communications!!!!

Great install, I've had exactly the same issue with the Viessmann wiring. It totally threw me the first time and cost me a few hours of checking everything. Even their technical at the time were telling me what I said the wiring connections printed on the boiler were, they said I must be wrong! Crazy. One question - i have fitted a 4 pipe Viessmann system boiler before with a third party (non viessmann) unvented cylinder. They told me i should not under any circumstances use the cylinder sensor set up - instead use the cylinders own stat in conjunction with a zone valve and their 'cylinder control box'. I'm guessing you've just put the Viessmann sensor in the cylinder dry pocket? Although i see the cylinder stat was still on the tank? Cheers, John

Thanks John. I think they need to address the situation as its clearly an issue. I'm glad I'm not to only one that was stumped! So Viessmann said similar to me. I spoke to a lot of Viessmann engineers and they all use third party cylinders. I just slid the sensor through the existing stat and secured it. So the original stat is just a dummy. @@loving-plumbing that is exactly what I had originally planned to do. But changed last minute after speaking to their technical. Next time I'll do it your way for sure. I did consider a Viessmann cylinder but wow they are expensive!!

Those low voltage connections are always wrong, can’t understand why they don’t just colour code the wires. Top job mate

Had the same issue wiring in outdoor sensor on a 100 combi 😂 If the customer is ok with the app just go for weather comp don’t fit any internal stats 👍

I'm not a heating installer, but why do you use crimp fittings on some pipes and solder on others?

I fitted a nest with opentherm on a vitoden 050 which is the 1st viessmann boiler i ever touch. Took me more than 1 hour for that because the same misleading shit. I believe viessmann do this for a reason yet we dont understand as a layman

It is definitely frustrating. I'm not sure why they haven't addressed the issue.
