Non plumber here. Question wouldn’t connecting the flow and return cause the return temperature to be higher? When I fitted a smart thermostat to my system at home I had the same sort of mess with connector blocks wiring but it was at the back of the airing cupboard meaning I would have to take the hot water cylinder out to get to it. The only place I could put the smart units was away from the pump and zone valves so I built a wiring center out of Wago TopJob S din rail connectors which have a connection to a remote box with the zone valves and pump connection glanded into a waterproof box. All ferruled into the topjobs. Works perfectly and Looks neat and means I don’t have cables running across the bottom of the airing cupboard.
@stuplant6693Ай бұрын
I live in Northern Ireland, every expert i spoke to when building my house said you need UFH on both floors as heat pumps don't work with radiators. You have to massively oversize them. If thats not right accurate i love to hear others opinions. I have UFH downstairs but rads upstairs. Thanks
@loving-plumbingАй бұрын
In new builds it's probably more sensible to go UFH on both floors. It's perfectly fine to have radiators and underfloor heating working together you just need to get the design right regarding flow temperature. Sometimes you may need to have a mixed temperature zone controlled by a mixing/blending valve. Thanks for watching .

Can a Navien 300 boiler run without an external thermostat? Ours doesn't have one and when switched on it constantly heats the rads and wont turn off. Great video by the way. Thanks for sharing.
@loving-plumbingАй бұрын
Yep. Sounds like it's linked out on the PCB. You really do need a Thermostat of some kind. 👍

Hi Luke thanks for the video wiring looked harder than the plumbing 😂😂 Don’t forget with LVT flooring 27degC is usually the max temp it will except - you might need to drop the pipe centres to get the output 👍
@loving-plumbingАй бұрын
Hi Mark. Man of much wisdom. Yep LVT is 27DEG floor temp but that floor temp and flow temperature are not directly related. I will have a probe in the floor that will shut it off if it creeps that high. Thanks again.

Great video as usual and very nice install, just one question & excuse me if I'm being an idiot, but would your set up not caused underflow on the radiator circuit when there is a high output on the underfloor circuit? & the pumps pulling on each other? Could you not of piped a distribution header off the CCTs at a max M/S of 0.5?
@loving-plumbing2 ай бұрын
I think you are probably right in terms of using a distribution header. Would make sense to do that if I was using a low loss header. I think using a CCT is just a simple way to separate the system. I don't believe the pumps will pull on each other as they are pulling from the return. Thanks for watching
