I sure do appreciate your videos Captain. I have learned so much from you over the years. I also wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the TX Flats Class episodes. I have sure fallen in love with that TX coast over the past few years...I think they're doing a heck of a job managing their fishery and their water

Once again, thanks for sharing your knowledge. You showed a 10 lb test, but what I'm curious of is what pound test did you have on your Hundo.? "Tight Lines and Full Limits To Ya"

You mentioned to your client during the video that he could reel up the lure because the knots go through the guide better, what is the braid to leader knot you use? Thanks!

Your secret weapon is the decades you have spent on the water, I believe you could catch a Redfish with a Flute and a net.

Excellent share / video as always 👍 point well made on thin smooth braid being great 👏…. Never seen or used this particular braid……what you held up, the 300m x 10# @ 0.171mm Micro braid on amazon goes for 20% more cost than Varivas PE X8…300m pe1 (20#) @ 0.171mm or pe 0.8 (16#) @ 0.153mm (varivas my favourite brand for premium casting/jigging)…….powerpro v2 and j-braid grand have thinner 10# (pe1.5) lines at 0.15mm and much cheaper again than both the former……shimano grappler and sunline siglon or castaway are superslick and smooth and cast so quietly….. but not so durable

I'm a new subscriber and have enjoyed your videos. There is one topic that I haven't come across yet, It's using scents . What are your thoughts about using scents on hard baits and soft plastics?

Looking for advice: I'm right handed and I only fish with spinning reels. Next season, I'm going to get out of my comfort zone. Should I get a baitcaster with the handle on the right or the left? My spinning reels all have handles to the left, but a right handed baitcaster has the handle on the right. Should I just learn a baitcaster with the handle on the left?
@philjones39812 күн бұрын
Baitcasters typically have smaller handles, and making those tighter turns with the off-hand can feel kinda wonky and awkward to some people. My spinners have handles on the left, and my baitcasters have handles on the right, and it makes no difference to me. If you can, go to a bass pro or other tackle shop to feel them out and go from there.

Best thing to do is go to a local tackle shop and see which one you prefer. I like the handle on the left for both casting and spinning personally but some people like casting reels right handed and spinning reels left handed. Its all personal preference.

The short answer is left handed for you my friend on baitcasters
@Philip-gy4fi2 күн бұрын
On my left hand but when I use a level line I use my right hand 11:43 if you are used to using your left hand and that's what I want to go with

I fished right hand baitcasters my whole life until I got paired with an angler in a tournament that used left handed reels. I tried them out, got past the awkward part and realized the pure joy of not having to switch hands after casting. Can’t hurt to give it a try and give it some time. For me, the advantages of left handed reels made all the difference in the long run.
