When they have to rely on reports to ban 250,000 cheaters after 6 months, that's not the anti-cheat doing it's job, that's the community doing the job for Blizzard, and it's rather despicable, having to rely on the player base to get cheaters banned. This dude was most likely using an old cheat that had already been detected a long time ago. The fact that it took this long to get them banned is still cause for concern..

It's not doing it's job at all. As someone with a little knowledge on the "cheating" subject due maybe personal experience, the anti-cheat is garbage. Just don't be BLATANT like this idiot, and you won't be touched. The cheaters you have to ACTUALLY worry about, are not these. These will always get caught/banned relatively fast. It's the other ones that know how to hide and not be blatant that you should be concerned about. Walls are NEARLY undetected by the anti-cheat in it's current form. Also there are like 10 bypasses (most are paid unless you code, but with ChatGPT it's REAL easy) So most people that want to actually CLIMB, you likely won't ever suspect they are cheating unless they give it away at some point being stupid. But MOST cheaters that have half a brain, aren't going to get caught. Especially not by the automated system LOL. That's just a poor people thing or people who use absurd aimbots like this. You can easily just put aim-assist on PC through the application and it won't be as obvious. It'll only have a bit of smooth tracking. Set it to like .3-.4 and it's nearly impossible to notice.

I've gotten no less than FOUR notifications in these past TWO DAYS! That was after many months where I didn't get any notifications at all despite always reporting people being racists, throwers, people being AFK, and possible cheaters. I think it was Flats himself who explained that Overwatch bans happen in waves - they spend months without banning people and then there's a wave of bans. I guess we're in a wave now, at least in my region.

Eh, I doubt a physical person actually watches most of the reports. It would be logistically impossible. I think there would be a few edge cases where a physical person could review a couple of things, but I assume most of it is done through an AI program that detects cheats or something.

That first one kinda hurt me because I've played a lot of Sombra, so sometimes I shoot certain areas JUST IN CASE and she always happens to be there. 😅 Side Note: I was once accused of cheating by a Sombra bc he threw his translocator to disengage. He claimed he was invisible and I was hacking because I was shooting him and killed him while he was invisible. It was impossible for a few reasons: A. I was playing Moira. Moira can't damage you if she can't see you. B. Sombra goes invisible faster, but NOT IMMEDIATELY after throwing the translocator. C. I used my brain and eyes and started draining in the direction she threw it, so she wasn't able to go into stealth due to taking damage. Maybe he was new, maybe he was just stupid, idk, but every time he died he accused the person who killed him of cheating. Same with his buddy. Perhaps they were cheating and felt nobody should be able to kill them? It was qp and it's not like I play at a level any higher than plat maybe... (Whatever the new Plat is...)

I played an overwatch game where a teammate was unusually bad. As I watched the replayed I saw that my teammate was literally a poorly designed AI that would aim at their teammates and spam abilities whenever they were low health. At that moment I realized that some game really are just 50/50.

I think it would be more interesting to show some more subtle cheaters. I've been getting a lot of them lately in ranked. The cheat I see the most is one where they play normal like 90% of the game but at crucial moments they will melee the air or something then proceed to hit an insane flick afterwards, then go back to looking normal until another key moment in a teamfight. I've also run into some people walling but not using any aim cheats. Like just walls and nothing else. I think when they melee the air they're locking it in but only for one headshot.

Recently came back after qutting in OW1 and got this map after a couple of matches. i was playing sombra and for the life of me could not find a single healthpack to hack. So him not knowing the healthpack is there doesnt even surprise me. On every other map i've played in OW2 (which im pretty sure is all of them at this point) the healthpacks are really intuitively placed, but on this one it's just not the case, which is really weird to me.

The problem is that flick shots are a thing, and while consistency can be an indicator of whether it’s a flick or a cheating program it’s sometimes hard to distinguish. You can pop off on window with flick shots and people call you a cheater when it’s just luck and skill matching up for a push.

There are a few types of aimbot. The basic snapbot where it snaps to an enemy player. The bullets not lining up with the screen reticle is called homing bullets. The dude knew his snapbot was so bad he had to get a second aimbot to fix it. Dude has 2 aimbots and still dies in public matches.

I had one ranked game that barely began, the game closed declaring there was a cheater somewhere. I didn't even recognize since it was too early in the game.
