While it's gonna be weird that the shop will eventually go away by the end of next year, I'm glad that it won't exist moving forward, there was nothing going for it after OWL closed and just an unnecessary currency that was hardly being used. As someone who's never watched OWL, I thought I might buy some tokens to nab some cool skins but the pricing is ridiculous. The max tokens you can buy is 900 for £41.99 which is absolutely insane. For reference, that's only 3 skins. Counting in the shop, there's 3 bundles of 5 skins for 1200 and 8 other skins for 300, meaning if you wanted to get all of them you'd be paying around £280 for all of them... That's insane

Overwatch right now, could give you 1 coin for every game you play from start to end (meaning you dont leave with 5sec left). Ive played 5000+ games. Man, i used to love watching Philly Fusion play! The idea of regionalized teams made for such a fun esports experience that, though overwatch will never actualize, i hope another game can capture. I just wish me buying some of these skins would get the money to the likes of Carpe, Alarm (RIP), eqo, poko, sado and the rest of the rosters. I think overwatch 2 is struggling so much in part that at every turn they betrayed trust and left the community out to dry, and the Pro's were often the brunt of the neglect. Glad they are doing this though.

What they could of done instead is: Remove the OWL shop and the OWL coins Convert those into gold coins and move the skins into the usual shop Combine the color variants into one skin and add the "mythic" skin UI to it, so basically you could select Owl skin for example Reinhardt then select a variant of it to use/buy Do the same to all recolours of other skins to reduce the clutter Nice and clean

I'm new to OW2, so never had a chance to get the tokens the normal way. I also live in the UK and for some reason they are literally a $1 more expensive per 100 tokens ($6.94 converted at the time of writing this). I literally just want the doomfist skin but MAYBE would have been tempted to get the 5 skin bundle that one is in if the price of 1200 tokens for the bundle wasn't $76! Ridiculous pricing and it's put me off buying any more OW stuff really, I don't mind buying cosmetics and supporting the game if I feel like they're a fairish price but this is just silly.

They won't due to Sinatraa's "drama". Google it if you want. It was his skin. They stopped doing MVP skins because of the situation, followed by Blizzard's own lawsuit in the same light. They refunded players that purchased that skin and removed Sinatraa's branding from the remaining copies of it. That skin is not cool. McCree's name is not cool.

The bundle prices are ok. The team skins and token packages are are the same price, possibly more for tokens. I love the old OWL skins, they remind me of when the game meant something. May have to pickup a few old valiant and old mayhem... we'll see. This plus the K-pop bundle reappearing in the shop has a liquidation, "everything must go" feel to it. It's like theyve decided they're cooked and are gonna try and squeeze every penny out of us before going on full autopilot. Not great.
