Three minutes in I'm betting Washita. A Hard wouldn't flatten that quick, would it?

I'll let that remain a question till the next video.

Damn Rooster that's a nice looking stone, it looks like a natural wet stone because of all the sediment it releases, also right after you passed your hand, it leaves a lot of sediment like a natural or synthetic wet stone and for sure I bet it's an Arkansas wet stone. That's the most natural way for you to repair them stones, better then doing it in a thick piece of glass. Nicely done 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍

There are at least two easier ways to lap a stone. 1. moving the stone on a flat surface under a mounted diamond cutting wheel 2. a diamond lapping plate I've read that DMT plates (and other brands too for that matter) are not flat. They are just flat enough, reasonably flat. I would not try to flatten a new flat stone with them to make it more flat. There's no easy way to measure it. Maybe there's a laser scanner able to do it. You cant use optical flat without scratching it

I was thinking jnat as well after seeing how fast that thing flattened and how much mud it produced. Whats the noise like with that silicon carbide powder? When I grind with that stuff on glass or the granite tile I have I need to wear ear plugs because how loud it is.

See if you can raise a slurry with a diamond plate. That looks like it might possibly be some type of jnat. There are other stones that have a similar look, and without it in my hands I can't say for sure, but I just picked up fabulous kiita that looks a lot like that. It also looks a lot like a Washita.
