A Look Back On Live: Reptox

I thought it might be interesting to log into my EverQuest account on the live servers and take a look at my original characters.
Let me know what you think about this video. If it is received well I will upload more, if not I will scrap them.

Man I'd love to login to my old character for nostalgia, I couldn't play enough EQ for about 4 years but haven't logged in since 2004. I get a kick out of all your videos, it's all fun to watch, love the quests and gear and zone walkthroughs and city walkthroughs, P99 or live!

You should try to log in. If you still have access to the email it was registered to it shouldn't be too hard to get the details sorted. I actually have a second account that we ended up getting so my brother and I did not have to share and could play together. For some reason only 1 out of the 8 characters on that account is still there, the other 7 just disappeared after not having logged in for such a long time. I put in a petition about it and they said they could not restore them because they were so old they did not have logs that went that far back. Bit of a bummer but oh well.

Man, I would absolutely love to be able to log onto my old druid from 2006... so much time into that character. I had such epic raid gear and badass clickies with illusion clickies. I had all the good stuff on that character. I remember being like the top 3 druid on the Quellious sever back then.

Even though it seems like you considered this a "throw-away" kind of video, I really enjoyed this. If you have any other videos you don't think you are very entertaining, I suggest you just upload them. I am a fan of ALL of the videos I've watched of yours (dozens), with no exceptions. lol I love that all the find bugs and auto-loot issues still exist... That being said; the initial Advanced Loot setup sucks big-time but once you get all the filters set you never have to mess around again and that I do love.

My first account i made in early 2000 and i was completly hooked till 2005. Made a new account in 2012 and still subscribe today jan 2018. I dont know how people on p99, can enjoy playing the same zones over and over for year and years, with a level cap of only 60. I loved the classic days of EQ they will always be my best Mmo memories in my life, but those days are gone IMO. I love what Sony did with Everquest through the years and Daybreak is doing a pretty good job them selves keeping the game close to the original path meanwhile still adding new content, Which keeps a game alive specially an Mmo. Live all the way!!! BtW i have watched alot of p99 videos, alot of Reptox s, and i do really enjoy watching them, iam glad P99 exsist. Thank you for the videos

Let me start by saying I really love all of your EverQuest videos. Really. All of them. A lot. In fact, it's hard to describe how much I like them (especially the work you obviously put into connecting the bits of story spread throughout the game, the probably painstaking time spent editing to produce such high quality content and not only the explanation but also demonstration of quests and tactics). But this one? This one is different. In every other video to this point (and their comments section) you always seemed to keep a balanced neutrality on the whole p99/classic vs live issue and I really respect that. Everyone has their opinions, of course, including me but you seemed to be able to not focus on the controversy too much. In this video, however, a bias really shows and it really is the through line for the video. It has a very negative feel and that surprises me because it is so unexpectedly different from your other stuff. I still have a few of your videos left to watch before I (possibly) join the new p99 Green server (which I see you've done a video on about a week ago or so). I hope you continue to make these wonderful videos and in the style of the majority of your content. Maybe I'll even see you on Green (and I won't even give you shit about pronunciations.....probably =P ). Until then, enjoy your time and Be Excellent to Each Other.

You do know that you can turn off the advanced loot feature? Just click the settings button and turn it off and you've got your good ol' loot window back.

Of course the moment you log in, you have a bunch of people messing around in general chat talking about Everquest being a dead game and even throwing a quick jab at WoW being dead. No matter what game, general chat will always be general chat.

i guess livefootage is a part of quite some of ur videos =) love the effort and love u put into them! As i mentioned under the last video i personally woud enjoy it much more to see allready featured characters in ur videos that dont regard Reptox's adventure. Not so much live footage because too much has changed to keep continuity. There is lots of titanium footage however, you are correct. Also, I have some game play of my Cleric that I will put up one day, I just need to compile it, hopefully you will find that enjoyable ;)

Flatts everyone also starts in the same starting location, called Crescent Reach. Iskars and high elves starting in the same area?!. Cabilis, Freeport, Qyenos, are all ghost towns. It’s sad man. The extended targeting window is pretty nice. When intimidate wears off, you can see all the mobs you’ve agroed long before they reach you. So you know whether you need to zone. The stats on defiant gear eliminated the need for monks to watch their weight. There’s a whole bunch of other crap I dislike including the advanced looting window, which is why I play on a progression server: Agnarr.

Top tier info man, thanks! Yea I did play through crescents reach on a character once back in like 2011, it was pretty crazy. Coincidentally I'm pretty sure that new TLP server: Corniav launched today, they sure are banging those out fast.

The reason I asked what server is because you bought this account off me !! (I just got to the point in the video when you said you bought the account) The main was a Beastlord named Rusttic and then the account got stolen and they changed the name to Rumtum. Your brother had to call me to get the account back with the original Credit card info. I see you sacrificed him down to 46 :( SMALL WORLD!!!!!!! PS did you get to use my DKP in our guild or did they catch that it wasn't me anymore?

Im interested in gong back but I have no interest in p1999 or subbed progression servers. I want to experience new content. What is a good server and are main towns dead? I want to go back enjoy some of these towns. Thanks!

The best servers are Xegony and firiona vie but most of the original cities will be empty due to the game being 20 years old and most of the players being higher levels but its not unheard of to see someone running around there.

Plz no Wizard content, Unless you want us staring at a spellbook the whole video because you're going to be medding more than actually playing the character lol! Enjoyed this video, I would like to log in to my original account to see my original chars. I started another account on Live around 2015 with a couple chars in high 70s mid low 80s and live is fun but I prefer the classic as to the AA grind. For real though going from Monk to Wiz your probably not going to like it too much because even though their spells are beast late game getting there is boring as F.

I totally get what you are saying about the Wizard, but the reason I decided to go with Wiz is I really wanted to experience quad kiting. I plan to pretty much play him completely solo, so any content I create with him will only be during up time. I wont record myself sitting in the spell book medding haha, in fact I intend to use that time to go afk, the idea is a character I can jump on and play in 30 minute bursts. I think a quad kiting Wiz suits that. But if it all turns to shit and I don't end up liking it, I will just move all the gear onto a Mage or Enchanter, that is the beauty of EQ.
