I really appreciate your videos! I am 28 years old and only in the past three years have I begun to discover just how bad some of the products I've been using my whole life are for me. I love how you briefly explain WHY we don't want these ingredients in our products and you don't just tear through the products and rip them apart without explanation. I love that you can offer alternatives that aren't ridiculously priced so people feel like they have to spend hundreds of dollars cleaning up their bathroom of all the poison. So glad you did this one Bobby! The most economical choice for deodorant will be rock salt. It lasts me over a year and I put on 15 swipes in the morning. It's amazing and all natural. I would caution anyone to use very little of the dr. bronners on your skin. I made the mistake of using way too much and it gave me painful cystic acne that took a prescription to end. I love dr. bronners just use with caution and don't use on face.
@Westcoastfriendship72 жыл бұрын
One note, for some the Dr. Bronner's soap may be too drying because it has a really high ph while skin tends to have a ph that is much lower and leans towards the acidic side. So when looking for products to clean your face or hair having a product with a ph that is balanced in the right range can be important. Good video though, you are always helpful on making people more aware about the ingredients in the products they are using!

The very best thing you can do for your hair - especially if you color your hair - is to buy sulfate-free shampoo!! It won't make the suds that people think they need to feel clean, but it also won't strip your scalp & all that expensive color out of your hair! (I do mine myself) But as a lifelong redhead, this has made all the difference! I've only used sulfate-free shampoos now for close to 10 years & I only have to color grow out, I don't have faded color anymore. And let's be honest, vanity will always win out over health - but sometimes you can both!

Just a quick note regarding SLS - if you decide to use an SLS-free shampoo, be careful to not use a conditioner or any styling products that contain silicones. SLS removes silicones and if you’re not removing the silicones properly, you may notice a build-up of product after a while. I also love Dr Bronners but be aware that it’s very drying. I can’t use any of the bar soaps or liquid soap on my skin for this reason. Great to clean the bathroom with though!
@Westcoastfriendship72 жыл бұрын
There's a face wash you can make using Liquid castile soap, honey, jojoba oil, and an essential oil of your choosing and it seriously makes my face softer than anything I've ever used. But the reason that the Dr Bronners is so drying on it's own is that it has a ph that is too high for your skin. Skin in general tends to have a ph on the acidic side so something too alkaline isn't good for it. Have a nice day!

Bobby, check out mouthwash. There are multiple parabens in them. That shocked me. So I made my own. I got some essential oils and neem oil which kills germs. You only need a drop of neem oil. It doesn't taste great, but also add some peppermint oil and whatever else you want. I used some clove also. Just experiment with amounts. Peppermint oil can be very strong so use sparingly. I sure don't want parabens in my mouth to be absorbed as I wash out my mouth. Bad idea. I threw out those store bought stuff.

I'm glad you brought up sunscreen Bobby. I learned something from Dr David Williams at healthy directions, absolutely years ago, and he said that sunscreens can cause skin cancer which is what they're supposed to prevent. His recommendation is vitamin C powder mixed with any lotion that you use on your whole body, and use that blended together on your whole body. I tried it out it worked amazing in 90° weather with me walking to Walmart which was miles from where I was staying. And it did prevent a sunburn 👌😲 so it does work, and prevents skin cancer as long as your lotion you're using is clean.

Thank you so much for letting us know all of this! So appreciated! One thing. I was taught in beauty school that dandruff and dry scalp are different, dry scalp is dry skin, looks like skin flakes. Dandruff is different, it looks like white sugar and not sure they have a cure yet. Do not use medicated shampoo on dry scalp as it will dry it out even more. I tell all my customers this and so far it has helped them. Also wear a hoodie to the movies and don’t put your head on the seats as dandruff is supposed to be contagious

According to the abstract of "Safety of titanium dioxide nanoparticles in cosmetics " written on pubmed in November 2019. Nano titanium in concentrations UPTO and below 25% does not "nano-TiO2 did not penetrate beyond the outer layers of stratum corneum to viable cells and did not reach the general circulation, either in healthy or in compromised skin" however this same abstract warns against the safety of this product being inhaled (ex: fragrances, sprays, powders) and this should even be safe in product's you may slightly digest such as a lip balm. The same abstract quotes "After oral exposure, nano-TiO2 absorption and toxicity are limited. The incidental oral exposure to nano-TiO2 contained in lip balms is thus not expected to induce adverse health effects." Study's also unanimously show Parabens to be safe in skin care products. First ingredient in Colgate Kids is SORBITOL, the rest isn’t any better; there’s PEG-12, SLS, artificial flavor, SODIUM SACCHARINE, Blue 1, and Yellow 10. Besides it being just a bunch of horrible ingredients mixed together it is shockingly sweet. I would bet my allowance that those types of super-sweet toothpastes have something to do with the rise of obesity and metabolic issues that are plaguing the world. A lot of studies say that artificial sweeteners are the culprit for Metabolic Syndrome, but they all link it to food exclusively, nobody’s talking about the possibility of toothpaste as a contributor as well. Since digestion of sugars starts in the mouth as soon as our systems detect sweetness, then appropriate enzymes and agent are sent to continue to process, assimilate, refer, and discard sugars/byproducts why not account for toothpaste in the whole equation? Once our system learns to ignore sweetness due to artificial sweeteners sounding the alarm to digest sugars but there not being any, it makes “mistakes” by not activating an appropriate response to sugars even when real sugars are being consumed, making way for metabolic disorders. I’m rambling a bit because it is a lot to cover, but I hope others can understand what I’m trying to say.

SLS is so horrible and it's lurking in so many seemingly "good" products! I learned about how bad it can be with my oldest son, it caused horrible mouth sores, so I've been using SLS free toothpastes since he was a toddler and he's 13 now. My youngest is allergic to three preservatives found in almost everything, even some Dr. Bronner's products have them! We are so restricted on everything we use and even some of the best scoring products have preservatives that can be allergenic. You really have to be diligent about reading labels and understanding those sneaky terms companies use for things that slip past the radar of the every day consumer.

I had the same problem with getting canker sores from the SLS in toothpaste. I started using Biotene years ago since it doesn't contain SLS, and it's so much better.
@julianschulz16202 жыл бұрын
I used to get horrible canker sores from toothpaste. I use Biotene and also Pronamel Gentle whitening, both SLS free, and the sores are long gone. Also, if you are prone to rashes like eczema, you need an SLS free shampoo.

At the start of the video you said to stay away from phenoethanol, at the end of the video you showed the bulldog shaving cream and it has that ingredient. I am confused because I am new lol so should I stay away from bulldog with phenoethanol in it?

What about metro in the stove - paint in the house - metal doorknobs - carpet - floors - Ect - my aunt did the Bobby diet before it existed - and she also did the chemical free home - so I am concerned about these chemicals in these homes - please consider a video about a toxic free home ( re paints metals carpets ) and please do a toxic free furniture video

I bought acure shampoo based on your suggestion and it’s great. I was really skeptical because I loved the commercial/salon one I was using.

Also, make sure the pH of your soaps and body washes are slightly low. Most of these soaps and body washes even organic and with good ingredients can be too alkaline for the skin. Our skin pH is about 4.5-5.5. I couldn't find a good soap in my area lower than 7.0 which is a glycerin soap.

I would definitely like to see more about Big Corporations deception with our everyday products!👍🏻👍🏻 How about “laundry fabric dryer sheets?”
@delphiniapickett29342 жыл бұрын
They are fabric sheets that are soap but claim to be natural I'm not sure but you can only order them not buy them at the store

I like to use white vinegar instead of fabric softener or dryer sheets because I have eczema. Not only is it cheaper (like $4 for a huge bottle), but I prefer how bright and soft my clothes and towels come out with it instead. It feels cleaner and not coated in fragrance or with a leftover residue. I told my roommate to use it once when she ran out of softener. She thought it would make her clothes smell bad but she LOVED it. I highly recommend!

Tons of the personal care things are based with a soybean glycerin and most of it contains soy protein. Option would be coconut. Would be interested on your take on liquid foundations. Foundations contain all sorts things you would never want to put on your body and it is encouraged for beauty. Are there healthy options?

Love your videos!! My boyfriend and I were shopping at Aldi the other day and we checked every item with the app to see if it wad Bobby approved!! It really does open your eyes to the bad ingredients being stuffed into "healthy" products. Love your videos. I'd be interested in your opinion on companies such as Native. We've been using their deodorant for a while now but I see they've come out with toothpaste and other personal care items. Maybe a video on companies like that because as we've learned from you, you can't always trust marketing.

What do you think of Lumineux toothpaste? I have been a reluctant brushes of teeth since my childhood. This paste brought me around. I'm a huge Dr. Bronner's fan. Body wash, bar soap (for travel), and their shave cream. Castile soap rocks my world.

I have used white dove bar soap for YEARS because it was recommended to me by my doctor, but I definitely want to get on the dr bronners train I just worry about my skin reacting to it. 😅

Dove is great and rec by dermatologists...I use it in the winter bc I need a non drying soap in the winter.it has a ph close to 6.it s a soap...you are washing it off...this guy is not chemically literate.it s pretty unrealistic to only have products without preservatoves. Dove soap...pears soap...ivory soap...all been around forever and cheap and perform well.
