I said I was going to try this recipe, and I did. We had it for dinner tonight and we liked it very much. I put both kinds of potatoes in it, russet and sweet potatoes, next time I make it I will probably wait just a little while And then put the sweet potatoes in, but it was fine the way it came out. Thank you so so much.

I love using root veggies in my stew-parsnips and swede are just lush and it is vital in my family to add pearl barley as you just chuck it in (a couple of handfuls) at the start and it adds a lovely chewy texture as like you I love stews full of different veg and textures.You can also throw in a handful of red lentils and/or dry chick peas as they don't need any soaking or prep prior like some pulses. Super delicious while adding so much extra vitamins ,minerals, fibre and flavourful textures as well as giving the stock an extra richness. We are having lots of cold weather here in the UK so perfect stew weather!!!!

This looks so good. But I'm gonna have to substitute egg noodles for potato's cause there's someone here that doesn't like potato's. 🤨 Thanks for a great idea! 😃

hi.. can you explain what dice is? I thought it meant squares but you said when did carrots "dice them in smaller pieces" The way you did the carrots to me is not squares can you explain please? learning to cook... thanks........ is there other meanings to dice? I see in video you corrected the word dice to slice for celery, that makes more sense. But for the carrots i don't know why you would say dice? More like chunks to me.
@LRDeMaggio3 ай бұрын
She was using the word dice very loosely. All her vegetables were just sliced or cut into chunks.
@EatingonaDime3 ай бұрын
Basically she just meant small pieces.

@@EatingonaDime so what= is the definition of dice .......square shape (cube) or just small pieces?

any help here?
@LRDeMaggio3 ай бұрын
@@lulu22422To dice just means to cut into small cubes. Check for videos about how to dice an onion. They are very helpful.

Why not use bagged hash browns, carrots, and peas,onions much faster and easier
@EatingonaDime2 ай бұрын
Yes you can do that. we just didn't for this because we want them bigger like a stew.

Not trying to judge because you appear to be an awesome cook, russet potatoes tend to fall apart on a long cook, I started using Yukon gold.

When you say “dice” it means in small pieces. So when you cut the vegetables in big chunks for stews, they are just cut up not diced.

Chicken breast, the blandest most flavorless and toughtest cut on a chicken. I use nothing less than bone in skin on thighs . I want some flavor and some good healthy fats in my stews.
