In this video, I’m reacting to Architectural Digest's mansion tour featuring NBA star Jimmy Butler and his stunning home in San Diego County. Jimmy Butler scored a great deal on this property, which comes complete with a full basketball court, a wine cellar, and even a coffee shop! While Architectural Digest showcases these incredible features, I’ll break down all the positives and negatives. From the spacious layout to the design choices, I’ll give you the full scoop on Jimmy Butler’s mansion.
The property spans nearly 15,000 square feet, giving Jimmy Butler plenty of room to play, entertain, and live large. Architectural Digest does an amazing job showing the highlights, but there are some aspects of the home that feel dated or could use improvement. You’ll get my full review, as I analyze how well Jimmy Butler’s home fits his lifestyle and whether it lives up to the hype shown by Architectural Digest.
If you're into basketball, luxury real estate, or just love watching Architectural Digest mansion tours, this video will give you an in-depth critique of Jimmy Butler’s home. With features like a full basketball court, wine cellar, and an in-house coffee shop, there’s a lot to love, but I’ll also point out where Jimmy Butler’s mansion falls short. Architectural Digest may have captured the essence of this property, but I’m here to give you the real deal, covering every angle from the lavish amenities to the design elements that might not hit the mark.
Check out my review as I break down Architectural Digest’s tour of Jimmy Butler’s San Diego mansion and see how it stacks up!

I like that this video is relatively short, it's easier to digest when you release it before 6 am in California. I love all of your videos, but 40 minutes really early in the day is killing me, because you know I need to watch immediately.

Wow the wine cellar is absolutely gorgeous and i loved his bathroom with the marbling floor to ceiling. The light fitting in the dining room and lounge area were nice, but didn't fit the rooms they were in.

Fair point, I did see the original video before this one & I thought he made solid choices for his home(still do) but yeah some of the chandeliers were questionable.

2:30 Theres a fogged glass door in the back. Probably leads to a pantry, but it may be the chef's kitchen with the stove? Theres also no fridge, unless its hidden inside one of those cabinets.

That wine cellar! I’m in love. Just the right amount of round, basketball shaping to soften the space. Michael Jordan should take notes from him!

Jimmy Butler is one of the biggest wine geeks in the NBA, so it would make sense that the wine cellar was one of the parts of the home that he actually paid attention to

When a celebrity and their home is featured in an AD video, that property is almost always for sale. It's basically free advertising.

Edit: kudos to his interior designer. And I love the curves and the foyer. An entrance foyer is useful if it’s done right. A place to greet guests, a place to doff coats & hats (and shoes in some areas), a mirror to check your appearance. An umbrella stand if needed. And as Arvin says, to set the stage and mood for the house.

A foyer is also a great breakout area when entertaining at scale... Tiffany Brooks is great! I appreciate her use of colors. Missing stove is a huge minus. Some chandeliers could be Barlas Baylar ones so they ain't cheap then. Great deal, nice property.

He probably has one of those invisible TPB tech countertops, where you have to use a silicone topper for it to work. I've seen them quite often in the homes of 'marble fanatics

At 2:40 I was thinking "I don't see any cooking vents" -> Assuming that I just missed the stove. Nope, there's just no stove, hence no cooking vent is necessary, but the stove missing is really bad. Also the room looks rather small in scale - so I felt like it would be pretty tight if people were to cook there, but if it's just a glorified snack room, then I guess it's similar to a snack pantry and you won't need too much room to move around.. If you have a wife then you want them to be able to cook and have a place for it - but I guess for those sorts of rich ppl, they prioritize eye candy a lot more, and I know there are plenty of women who don't want to cook if the husband is rich. But at the same time, wouldn't it be good to have a stove for a private chef - or I guess healthy foods aren't a priority in that household? Honestly, I don't know how to feel if there's no stove in the house - it feels crazy for me.. My wife makes great food and it seems crazy if there's no place for her to cook, even if we had that sort of money..

"Foyer" is a French word that is actually pronounced "Fwa-yay" (closest spelling as there is no equivalent in English, per se, for the "-er" sound), not "Fo-yay" nor "Fo-yer". Sorry if I'm being that guy. :)

I love your channel -- You deserve your own show on Bravo, I'll tell you that. I always learn something -- and always laugh -- every episode! (This time w/ you agreeing with yourself - twice!) Anyway - thanks for such a great channel! Not sure you answer random questions in comments -- but I have not yet heard you comment on some of these Prime Bedrooms that have no door to the Prime Bathroom. To me, that would be a negative because it wakes up your spouse/partner every time the other gets up and flicks on the light. But, maybe that is not a factor in the super luxury markets? I was curious of your thoughts since I see it quite a bit in the high-end market.

Arvin, amazing video - still I don’t get his purchase thou, doesn’t he play for the Miami Heats? Why does he live in Poway CA and why did he buy a house there in 2019? I checked houses around that golf club and everything was between 3 and 5 mil… and we are in 2024… not sure about his investment tbh…
