🌟 FLEET FRIDAY 🌟 FDNY DECONTAMINATION SUPPORT UNIT

The FDNY Decontamination Support Unit is a 2004 Freightliner Utilltmaster LDV. Staffed by one firefighter and one officer both trained to the Hazmat Technician II Level. They Respond from quarters in Corona, Queens Citywide to all Hazardous Materials Incidents where decontamination is required. The DSU is responsible for the collection, tracking and decontamination of equipment as well as providing logistical support and technical expertise. DSU Supports the 3 Decon Shower Apparatus, 29 Chemical Protective Clothing Units, and the 25 Decon Engine Companies. Assigned anytime a Decon Task Force, Decon Shower Unit, Mass Decon Task Force is assigned to a incident.
The DSU has all extra equipment and supplies to help support the decon process. 25 Decon Engines have there Decon supplies with respected SOC Support Ladders.
