just gotta repair my exhaust, probably gonna straight pipe it as it sounds great with muffler gone ha ha (came undone one morning lol) better to deal with two clamps than 4....
@Tywild327 Жыл бұрын
@@danielstein5290 this Styleline is almost near “perfect” condition (nowhere near) 😂 she is local car show level nice though. Needs a few things like the front disc breaks are dragging, it needs a vacuum system for the wipers, and the ti-rods need to be replaced and it needs to be aligned 😂. But other than that she is perfect. Brand new bored out 250CI straight six sitting under the hood with a 90’s Chevy S10 5-speed manual. I need to adjust the driver side doors so the bodily lines match up. And attach the rest of the chrome trim too. But I really want to straight pipe her.

My first ever car was a 49 Chevy convertable in a butter yellow color. That was in 1951 when i was 16 years old. I had the tail lights removed and had Cadilac tail lights installed on the fenders. I really wish i had kept that car, but i sold it for $1000 dollars and bought a new 52 Chevy Bel Air 2 door hardtop for 2300 dollars.

It is the body lines, the curves, the different shapes is unique to those cars. Like the first and second gen vipers have that old and unique 50ies design. The round windshield and roof design on this old cars is breathtaking. Great video. God Bless.

Appreciate the comments.. Great video again!! I am from Canada... So Canada to Cuba.. I just bought a '52 Bel Air.. It has the original 216 3 speed but I have a 261 with Offenhauser valve cover, intake and dual carbs. It has a Mallory dual point distributor and long tube headers with a bee hive oil filter... In Canada, that steering knob was called a "necker knob" back in the day, since you could kiss your girl while driving with the knob.. Very cool cars!

Nice cars. The 216 and 235 engines are both great around-town engines (especially if you can swap in a later full-pressure 235). One problem with having the rubber mats in the front of those old Chevys is that if you got water under them the mats would keep it from drying out (especially in colder climates) and it would be sitting under there though everything on top looked dry. It's very common to find rusted out spots on the driver and passenger side floorboards even on low mileage cars. (The mats don't have dams on them so it's easy for water to leak under if you were someone where you'd track melting snow into the car.) If you find a nice car with the original rubber mats it's worth taking a quick peek under there to check out the situation.

I like the both of the cars, however, if i had the 1951 I would build it into a Resto-Mod. I would start with a 283 Small block Chevy V8 and proceed to Resto-Mod the entire car. That's just me. But I also can appreciate the look of the original 1949/1951 cars, you have on display here. All original certainly has its place. Good Video.
