This is Sooo PHENOMENAL! I fell in love with Fleetwood Mac in my teens, and my whole style, to this very day is inspired by Stevie Nicks. I sewed some of my clothes in high school and I wore the flowing skirts, the draping blouses, the shawls. And I keep a pair of granny boots in my shoe collection. I’m 58 now, and I have a huge collection of maxi dresses and skirts. Huge collection of shawls. Eclectic jewelry, and it all started with Stevie.

By the way, I’m a reader, and from what I heard the books “The Mabinogion Tetralogy” was Stevie’s inspiration for Rhiannon (she just said in this interview that she wrote it before reading the book) so of course I wanted to read it and one book was over $120, so I was deciding if I wanted to read them that bad because I do like mythical books. But I found them on Amazon in digital for $9.99. That includes all four books.

I love your answer! One of the best compliments I ever received from a man (whose attention I desired) was when I came in from the rain, wearing my fedora, a long flowy skirt & fitted jacket, with knee-high black boots. My hair was long, wavy, & blonde. He said "You look like Stevie Nicks!" I've never forgotten that moment 😍

Nobody can have an opinion if they're not all in as a dedicated FM fan. Her recollections are spot on from the female perspective. Lindsey's are from the male psyche. They wouldn't have made this incredibly timeless music. If they had had a normal relationship where they had called it quits this music would never have come about and they wouldn't have had the run that they had.

She said she was writing music up Near Utah or Colorado I believe...and there was a book about Rhiannon in the home she was staying in...which led her to write Rhiannon During a concert in 77 I believe, she announced Rhiannon by “an old Welch witch”. I’m confused by what she’s saying here... Not to sound rude but which is it?
@monicajean37
@monicajean37 3 жыл бұрын
It's the 1st one, I know what concert you're talking about. She says "apparently this is about a Welch witch" don't quote me on the "apparently" but she made it clear it was the 1st one by body language.
@pupdon

The book was called Triad by Mary Leader. It's about a woman with multiple personalities who's name was Rhiannon. Stevie has talked about how she wrote the song because she loved the name of the character and at the time had no knowledge of the legend of the actual Welsh Goddess Rhiannon. Back in the day we didn't have the internet to look stuff up so easily and when she learned more about who Rhiannon was she thought she was a witch and would often introduce the song as "this is a song about a Welsh Witch". She was surprised to find that her lyrics could have been written about the legend even though she had never heard it before and that it must have just been one of her visions. She has since talked very openly about all this and has written other songs that she hopes to turn into a movie about the legend. Two of these songs are The Forest of the Black Roses and The Three Birds of Rhiannon. The demos are posted here on KZbin.

@jimmmmy41
@jimmmmy41 3 жыл бұрын
@@see4ward She was loyal enough to stay with him after they joined FM. She wrote their only #1 single, Dreams. Relationships stop working, sometimes. Buckingham got into the productions side of the music, giving him more control of the sound. Then, he double dips, getting paid to produce. That's why he wanted to do an album, rather that tour. Stevie was on record that she didn't enjoy her time recording Say You Will. There are those who've spoken/written about a somewhat volatile, abusive side to his personality. Mick Fleetwood wrote about it concerning a confrontation between Stevie and Lindsey when Buckingham left in '87. Sometimes, one just get sick of some else's shit.

She saved herself, yet the people at the rehab get no credit. Stevie Nicks Is the luckiest mediocre female vocalist at the right place at the right time to help her become famous when she started out. The band could of chosen anyone else that was much better, but Stevie was very fortunate, indeed, that they selected her. Madonna, Sheena Easton, Laura Branigan, and others that were successful never had a prop up through a band. A lot of female vocalists were self made and fought much harder. Stevie is lucky 🍀 she had the platform served to her on a silver platter. Stevie Is the “Jada Pinkett Smith” of music 🎵.

Woman is a SNAKE for giving the band the ultimatum the either she goes or Lindsey goes.. They kept the wrong person!! Christine could've sung all Stevie's songs, no problem!! That WITCH needs to remember how she got in the bad.. They wanted Lindsey not her!! He gave her the career she enjoyed all these years!! And now that Christine is done with the band, no need for me to give a penny to the Mac!!! The material without Buckingham sucks anyways!!

Too bad Stevie Nicks didn't use her God-given talents to be a Christian singer evangelist. She could have brought millions of souls to CHRIST THE LORD. Instead, she spent her life being a daily drug addict, until the cocaine and drugs almost killed her. Most of Stevie's songs she writes and sings are sadly about bad, unreciprocated, sad love affairs. I would rather hear songs that bring human hearts and spirits great hope, unity and to bring all Human Immortal Souls to GOD THE MOST HOLY TRINITY, and to The One & Only Savior of Humanity, The Divine Physician, The Messiah, GOD The Creator, ALMIGHTY GOD THE SAVIOR of HUMANITY, LORD JESUS CHRIST because CHRIST THE LORD IS The ONLY Way, Truth, Life and Rescue Salvation to HEAVEN FOREVER LIFE from HELL FOREVER FIRE in Eternity! Stevie Nicks needs to know that not "everybody" used illegal or legal drugs to get high on drugs in their lives. I never used illegal or legal drugs to get high in my life. I also do not smoke cigarettes. All of the people I know never used illegal or legal drugs to get high in their lives. Apparently, Stevie is blinded by Satan the devil to think that "everyone" on earth was doing the same drugs and committing the same sins she and the other people around her were doing in their lives. Sad. What a bad role model. I think Lindsey Buckingham is a great singer, songwriter and a phenomenal guitar player. The other people in Fleetwood Mac are also great singers and musicians. ALL people will face LORD JESUS CHRIST's judgment of their life at the moment we leave earth. ALMIGHTY GOD is calling to and commanding all people to Repent & Stop Sinning Against GOD and to get a Holy Bible to daily read and to daily memorize, and to daily obey GOD's Holy Bible words. GOD is asking people to share GOD's Holy Bible with others. The INFINITE, ETERNAL CREATOR, ALMIGHTY GOD wants people to Daily Learn About, Daily Live, Daily Obey, and Daily Trust ALMIGHTY GOD, LORD JESUS CHRIST's Forever Alive, Forever Living, and Forever Life Giving Holy Bible Commandments, Words and Christian Teaching Moral Instructions to us about how to love and how to live in purity in GOD's Holy Sight on earth, so we can be rescued and saved by GOD and go live in Eternity into the Presence of LORD JESUS CHRIST in HEAVEN FOREVER LIFE in Eternity. GOD is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Wake Up, People!! Follow JESUS CHRIST THE LORD GOD and SAVIOR to HEAVEN FOREVER LIFE in Eternity.

I love and respect the strength of your belief in Christianity. I admire anyone who "walks the walk" of their beliefs in life. Unfortunately, I don't know too many Christians that do this. I believe judgement of others is the work of a higher power, not a lowly follower of faith. I believe judgement and self-righteousness is the opposite of love. Doesn't God teach to "love others as you would love yourself"? If your comment indicates the extent of your self-love, I wish you to find self-acceptance and forgiveness of yourself. I don't presume this is the case. I'm sending you love with the confidence that you are exactly where you're meant to be in your life...just as Stevie Nicks is. I admire Stevie Nicks for her talent, for her message and for her journey. I don't look to anyone else for direction on how to live my life, not the bible, not successful entertainers, not the government or the media. I take responsibility for my own path and journey, for the rewards of my decisions and the consequences too. I accept others as they are and believe that (speaking in Christian terms), we are all made in God's image and therefore are all divine in nature...deserving of love and acceptance. Look for the good and you will find it. Look for something to criticize and you will find that too. And it's completely fine for you to live a protected life, trusting in your religious leaders to tell you how to live your life or how to make your decisions. But if you're going to do that, you must also accept that as a follower of faith, it is not your place to condemn, judge or shame others...that's God's work, not yours. Pride cometh before the fall.
