I'm not exactly sure how a 30 second guitar solo can incorporate the years from about 1968-1982... and do it 20-30yrs after-the-fact. But that's Lindsey Buckingham: one of the most underrated musicians of the last 50yrs.

Between Stevies tour schedule and Lindsay Buckingham solo projects it was hard to keep everyone together. Lindsay and Christine came out with an album together and that was the closest Fleetwood Mac album out. Too bad Lindsay and Stevie are at war. ...hey thats her ego. Also Lindsey got fired from FM due to Stevie
@miknes123452 жыл бұрын
@@davidcarney1827 Stevie's tantrum over Lindsey was incredibly childish and petulant. So she was irate, because he felt he didn't pay her enough respect at some award show... The woman is over 70 now. Mick had no choice but to sacrifice Lindsey to keep the band together, but I have a strong feeling given the typical soap opera theatrics of FM, that the original line up will get back for one final tour to fill up their coffers before they are too old.
@Sir_Gerald_Nosehairs. Жыл бұрын
@@davidcarney1827 She denies that, but in the same breath says that she refused to be in the band if he was. So to all intents and purposes, gave FM a "him or me" ultimatum. I adore Stevie Nicks, but she's got a bit of an ego, and think Buckingham was right when he said Stevie was treating the band basically as her backing group.

Nick which is 1997 written "New York" by Richard Ashcroft. I found no mention of his name in album credits or whatsoever...Probably S Nicks had some influence but perhaps forgotten all about it....

No one member of the core five (Stevie, Lindsey, Mick, John or Christine) is greater than the sum! IMO, if you don't have the core five you simply don't have 100% of the Mac.

@@ArtieFufkin546 - Oh no doubt that Lindsey was the “mouthpiece” of the band its musical director. From the inception of the band, the guitarist in FM had always played that role (Green, Kirwin, Welch). For Lindsey it was a natural process/fit. Mick & John do not write or arrange. Christine had never desired to lead and Stevie was still quite new to the “process” of music making, to which all she had learned from that point was from Lindsey. And you know what Lindsey wouldn’t of had it any other way. In fact, there were reports, in the early years, of Mick having to “talk” to Lindsey with regards to him being “in” and a “part” of a band because he often times could be demanding and abrasive with his suggestions.
@stannis7684 жыл бұрын
@@ArtieFufkin546 - Absolutely, but I do think to some degree it’s partly Lindsey’s fault. I mean Tango....was predominantly recorded at Lindsey’s home studio, which at the time his GF (Cheri) was living with him. It wasn’t an “ideal” setting for Stevie, in fact she spent less than a week doing her part. When she was recording, she was drunk or high or combination of the two! Straight to rehab. Lindsey sacrificed a lot of personal material (songs) and delayed a solo project to make Tango. The album was really a “financial gift” for Mick, who talked Lindsey into turning his solo effort, to which Mick and John were a part of, to a Fleetwood Mac album. Who would of known, it would be his last hurrah...for the moment.
