Severely underrated song. Great harmonies and a fine guitar solo too. This album was such a pleasant surprise after Lindsey Buckingham left the group. Lots of other great tunes on it as well!

Fully agree. This song made the top 10 of the AC chart, but failed elsewhere. It would have deserved a kinder fate, but by then, the album's momentum had been impaired by the lukewarm reception to the first single.

I agree completely. Highly underrated song from Christine...should have been one of the biggest hits of 1990. The first single was good, too, but this one was better. At least Warner Bros. included this track on Fleetwood Mac's 2002 Best-Of compilation so the casual fan can become familiar.

The Behind The Mask album was highly under rated. It is a very good album, upbeat like 1975's Fleetwood Mac lp.

This album as strong as it was with the two remaining songwriters suffered because they lost one of the three contributors. It is a testament to the strong songwriting of Christine McVie that saved this album as did Stevie Nicks to even get the luckwarm reception it received. ("Save Me " is a song by British-American band Fleetwood Mac from their 15th studio album, Behind the Mask, released as a single in 1990. Written and sung by Christine McVie, it was the group's last top-40 hit in the United States, where it reached No. 33.)

Behind the mask is a very underrated and often overlooked Fleetwood Mac album when it comes to the media and critics analyzing it's material. Is it Rumours? No. But it's not a bad album by any means. Lots of hidden gems on this one! Love is dangerous Freedom Save Me and the title track are just a few that make this album ready and worthy for classic rock radio and even the adult contemporary charts. Fleetwood Mac have had many players and incarnations over the last few decades and although there have been times when the players and material have been stronger and probably more commercial which is not my favorite word when listening to album tracks. The term commercial is just a music business word that means the material will be really popular with most people therefore making more money. Personally I don't care how much money certain music makes or how popular it is to the masses. I like discovering music on my own. If it ignites my mind and stirs my emotions then it's done it's job.

Wow I never knew there was a video for this amazing tune. I still love it to this day in 2019. I know a lot people hated this album but I loved it. I thought Rick Vito and Billy brought a new energy to the band and I love this song so much. Saw them in Toronto that year at the Sky Dome... amazing show.... Really hope Linsey is ok after the heart issue.. also hope the other members put aside their differences and go and see him and wish him well. Life is too short.....

Mick Fleetwood has mesmerising eyes. They manage to simultaneously evoke insanity and a childlike playfulness. He’s strangely attractive in a bohemian, eccentric, 70’s English rock star kind of way. Maybe it’s just me lol. 🤣

thevoid99 If Stevie Nicks’ biography is anything to go by, the entire band did their fair share of blow back in the day. They had it in the studio. They had it on tour. They even had people in their management and entourage whose job it was, was to procure the stuff for them, wherever they were in the world. It didn’t serve them well. Between the high rolling and the complicated web of love affairs, it caused a lot of damage to all of them. Amazing band though and they’re still selling out arenas, even if Lindsey isn’t with them (which is a shame because his creative input has been significant in terms of production, songwriting, vocals, guitar and composition).

One of my all-time favorite FM songs. It's a shame it didn't get more airplay in the USA, so the song remains relatively unknown. People who love "Everywhere" should also love this one, as it's in the same upbeat groove. And Chris looks beautiful in this (relatively low-budget) video clip. Like others, though, I wonder why she misspelled "Sky's" in the song title.

I played "Skies The Limit" many times on light AC commercial radio, and once I played the whole "Behind The Mask" album. I think the different spelling of "Sky's" was intentional and was acceptable artistic license.

As a Lindsey Buckingham fan,no Lindsey no mac. But burnette and vito were good musicians and they fit into that Fleetwood mac sound well. I agree I wish that they'd bring these guys back and do songs from that 88to 92 period.

​@@redletter2008 I think i heard that Rick Vito got restless, especially in the studio. He was a sessions player before joining so I imagine he was used to coming in, recording, then moving on. Fleetwood Mac, even without Lindsey, always took months and months in the studio. He and Mick made an album together in 2008 so I assume they are still friends. Tbh I would have fully supported both him and Billy Burnette returning.

They kind of ignore any period that doesn't have Lindsey or Peter Green in it. From what I understand, Love Shines and Heart of Stone from the box set were songs recorded, but not released, during Behind The Mask.

I started hearing this song being played as a background music selection in of all places...retail stores, a number of years ago, and it immediately appealed to me. Who is that performing it, I wondered. It was only a few months ago I finally found it was Fleetwood Mac! Such a terrific tune, in both composition and execution, I don't know *why* it evidently didn't end up ranking on the charts at the renown and levels of their previous greatest hits.
