She wrote more songs that were hits than either Lindsey or Stevie. It just happens Stevie wrote two of the biggest hits and she had the most prolific solo career, so she is the one everyone thinks about first. However, both of Christine's solo albums (after Nicks and Buckingham joined up) were very good, and the first had two or three hits off of it. She just didn't want to do more.

This must have been so brutal for John. To have his ex-wife singing about the affair she was having with their lighting director and worse yet, having it sound so good and it becoming a hit along with the whole album... and not just a hit - a classic that has stood the test of time. Imagine the worst breakup of your life becoming the stuff of legends that will be probably told for centuries to come. When they made the 'rumours', which includes this song, both marriages in the band were faltering. Nicks said they all cried in tears every night, wrote songs and gathered in the studio next day for recordings. This song was once known to be about Christie's dog, but later it turned out it's about the stage lighting director who Christie was having an affair with. Lindsey said 'shacking up is all you want to do' in 'go your own way' and Stevie is still mad about how false it is. Somehow they transformed all their agonies, hurt feelings, insecurities, and hope for love into the music that made up one of the greatest album of pop music.

@@carlklejna5774 It wasn't his guitar of choice. FM previous lead guitarists all played it so they told him he had to as well for the bigger warmer sound. They also wanted him to use a pick but he refused. On electric he was a Strat guy which was more fitting for his finger picking. During Rumours he met Rick Turner who supplied John's bass and other equipment. They talked guitars and Rick over a 3 year period developed a guitar with the warmth of a Les Paul but the clarity of a Strat with an acoustic overlayed sound. He presented the Rick Turner Model 1 to Lindsey during the Tusk rehearsals and it became his most used on stage guitar ever after. It's also known as the LB model/line.
