Great recap! Just came across your vault of videos and am loving them. My rookie year as a receiver with the Chargers was the same year David was brought in...so many interesting moments with him...especially after I bought one of his cars from him midway through the season! It's been really interesting watching your videos of guys I've played with because, at the time, I had no idea about their pasts or what they may be have been going through. As an undrafted free agent I was solely. focused on fighting my way up that slippery NFL ladder. Anyway, just wanted to drop a note of thanks and appreciation. Your ability to tell these stories in a way that is both engaging, detail oriented, and unbiased is refreshing. Keep doing your thing! All the best.

You've got some of the most measured and amazing videos I've seen on KZbin, or anywhere else, ever. Your videos on guys who are now considered "busts" or "has-beens" are mind-blowing. I know it's not the hardest thing in the world to curate this info, but the fact you do it and post these videos is something absolutely entertaining and mind-blowing. You do a GREAT job and I hope you continue to do these until your voice gives out! Thanks for these. I'm in my mid-30s and so many of these videos help me remember a lot of things I lived at the time, but also provide additional info that I didn't realize. I don't remember the car accident with Boston, but I do remember that the guy seemed so roided up that he couldn't play a whole season without a ligament or tendon injury, something along those lines (those are popular roid injuries, the body not being able to keep up with unnatural muscle growth). Keep doing what you're doing, I LOVE these videos. And clearly, millions of other people love them as well!

I had a guy who broke my leg (Tibia/Fibia with a baseball bat) and after I laid on the ground and pleaded to live he held the bat above my head ready to crush my head in. Luckily a friend of mine came and grabbed the bat and saved my life. I made a full recovery but did suffer compounded trauma much like what happened to David Boston. It definitely made me want to become stronger (I packed on 40lbs of muscle) and definitely effected my view on society and how I valued life. Having a near death experience does change you for sure.

A lot of people don't know that David's father (Byron Boston) was an NFL reff (line judge) . He actually made the no touchdown call when Air McNair completed a pass on the last play of the super bowl and the receiver tried to stretch the ball across. I think that Superbowl was in Tampa Fla. My Mom was friends with his dad and He was a great guy. David came from a great family.

@M W at least 50% of the NFL, and elite athletes in most professional sports, are on performance enhancing drugs. DK shows many of the common juicing signs and pretty much anyone with moderate understanding of body building will tell you he's using PEDs.
@DonutIgnoramus4 жыл бұрын
M W what? Just know you’d have to be delusional or ignorant to think someone can achieve that naturally without extreme bulking and cutting cycles over many years. It’s pretty much common knowledge that most elite athletes are taking PEDs.

My instinct was to hit pause and write "if you think someone is heavy into HGH, show before an after pictures of his head - HGH tends to cause changes to the bone mass, particularly in the jaw and brow ridge". A few things.. 1. Good Video FlemLo. 2... the IV's were used after practice and workouts to replenish his body with what it had lost/get his levels back for recovery. . (illegal or was in the NFL). I believe you were onto something about the wreck. David most likely started taking Testosterone and or something like Deca/gh to help his joints/recovery but because they worked so well, he never stopped probably. He was an elite athlete and thus even a really low dose like 150-300mg probably did wonders. Your levels can also be manipulated and he most likely knew when he would be tested hence he got by when tested. Test for designer drugs are expensive and or very specific so he most likely was never tested for those. (Also expensive and I'd think the NFLPA also had a say on those teat). His face changing is a side of PEDs esp of using things like Test/Deca. (Water retention in many cases) The jaw line thing is most likely non sense since he wasnt prob taking enough GH year round for years to do any growing.. (2-6iu daily isnt doing that and he is teated for GH I believe). Lastly, GHB is used by bodybuilders to help sleep since the drugs raise your heart rate and body temp. David was a party dude at times so it could also be recreational. He wasnt using GHB as a subsititute for growth. Not how that works. I was a huge David Boston fan but yes PEDs are addictive and his weight caused more injuries most likely. You can only be so big and put pressure on the joints for so long. In the end. ..Once you take PEDS and feel like Superman you no longer want to be Clark Kent. 😂✌ 👍

He also got the beginning part about Jersey Joe Walcott wrong. He was born in 1914, 13 years before FlemLo says he started boxing. Still a great vid tho.

Ghb is so dangerous too. So dumb. Wouldnt recommend it. If someone wants to use drugs I'd say use a little test as a base and run another anabolic or two along with it. After that point you run into problems.
