the fact that he can play this live is insane. The fact that when he blasts with his right hand, he's getting that hard hitting sound out of the snare is godly.

+Luke Cook Depends on which perspective you are coming from. Butthurt fanboy, or someone who knows something about music. It's impossible for music like this to work without being tight. So yes, how many notes can you put in whilst also: Sounding good Being tight That's what a good extreme metal drummer is in my eyes.

Just to clear this up, you dont need your heel on the board for heel toe doubles. Just lift your heel as in heel up and apply the same "rocking" type motion that you use when physically hitting the board with your heel. Bam, double strokes.

Double strokes and heel-toe are different techniques, which look similar. I suggest you check out the work of John Longstreth and Sergio Arocha. Here Sergio shows how it's done, and explains that heel-toe is not so good for your plantar fascia and your knees... v=Js8KG1xDOkM

TerrorKilling Z heel toe is not hard. its 80% pedal settings 20% technique. watch a video on heel toe you'll see. I'm not taking away from the skill of Fran. just its not one of the hardest. truly isnt. get a direct drive, tighten your front head, max spring setting, control rebound just like a double stroke roll with hands. MUST HAVE TRIGGERS. hardest foot tech in my eyes is the pressure swivel (not regular swivel) the pressure swivel
@RevenantAD7 жыл бұрын
TerrorKilling Z not really I was able to do heel toe without even knowing how to drum

Doing heel toe is hard, especially for playing without a trigger, yes pedal settings do matter but it is very hard thing to learn. You have to get them clean, the drummer from Lorna shore does heel toe at slow tempos all the way to 300bpm. Most people can't even do heel toe at slow tempos, it's all about foot work and having each hit with power.

Christian Dunham He does, I was right next to him and could hear the trigger sound everytime he hit the head. He does double-strokes, and it's so fast that you can't expect to see the beater move a lot.
